tbh i always thought punisher was supposed to be some kind of right-wing hero. he's a guy who goes around gunning down drug dealers, gang members, mobsters, etc., taking the law into his own hands. the ultimate vigilante fantasy.

Oh absolutely. There's a reason his logo is the one cops put on their cars

I think it is too committed to the idea that falsehood is a reflection of directional bias. Like, Wonkette is listed further to the left of Jacobin and Current Affairs not because it's actually further left, but rather because it's less reliable. The idea that basically nothing in the mainstream counts as "propaganda" or "contains misleading info" is wild. And the point that Breitbart and Infowars are significantly more prominent than their counterparts on the other side is worth noting too.

Update: okay yeah this game might actually rule? Like, I got into a story fight, and a mercenary came along, and I'm like, "ah shit, this isn't gonna go well for me." But he actually went after the enemies I had been fighting, took them out, and was weakened enough in the process that I could deal with him. Really cool seeing that sort of systemic gameplay here.

Also, once you get a couple skills, stealthing is super satisfying.

The appeal of the new ones is actually the massive amount of content for each map, with the unlock system encouraging as many different ways to complete each level as possible.

Yeah, I think they've done a good job with the last two games of laying out that replaying levels is the point.

Keep in mind when discussing Absolution's success:
- That game had a pretty wild pre-launch ad campaign that earned it a lot of attention
- It made a bunch of changes with the style that fans of the series didn't care for, and which have since been undone.
- Square still thought it was a failure.

I played through right after launch on PC and didn't notice any issues.

One of the early patches tried to make it so that you can be spotted by a target and still get silent assassin after killing them, assuming they didn't alert anyone else. But inadvertently, this made it so you can get SA even if you're found trespassing, provided you let the guard escort you out.

Yes. People should be recognized for their work.

They are. Its called a paycheck. No other job gets this recognition. Id argue the bridge you drove over today is more important than any film, and theres no plaque in front of the bridge listing the people who made it.

You're correcting in the wrong direction.

Early on at least the missions have a good bit of variety to them, which I like. Giving me ways to go about stuff without just killing every soldier is cool.

The stuff about weakening a nation before you can take out the leader is cool, but it would be cooler if you didn't have to do all that stuff just to get to the required level anyways.

I'm picturing like a platformer/puzzle game where the character and its movement is automated, and your job is to build the level so that the character can go from one end to the other without falling and dying. The character would have set rules governing its movement, like always jumping when it reaches a ledge, performing a wall jump if it hits a wall, etc. You would have a limited number of blocks or tools to add to the existing level to ensure that the character can reach the end.

I realize I'm basically describing one of those bridge builder games but with a person instead of a vehicle, but has it been done?
