I'm more liberal, but not by much.
Compared to 15 years ago, a lot more liberal.

I've come to the conclusion that, seeing as both parties have the same financial backers, American politics is pretty much a stage show and the American public has very little to do with the actual outcome.

They want the number of actual voters to be as close to 50/50 as possible so that, no matter who the electoral college chooses, it comes across like a bad call rather than a rigged election. The Democrats win the popular vote each time, yet Republicans have a near 50/50 success rate. There's no amount of "well, actually, it's very complicated" to justify that.

I think Donald Trump bought his way into the presidency before he was ever officially nominated. Joe Biden was just America's owners having buyer's remorse. Of course, we'll find out in a few years. If Trump becomes president again, I'm wrong. I'm not sure what I should hope for: a rigged political system or one in which bigotry and xenophobia flourish.

Probably this. Im not an overallangry person. But I put politics to way too much stuff lately. Because shit makes me mad. It's not even me trying to push my views on others, it's me just venting all the stuff I absorb in-between seeing others. I'm glad Im funny, so I can at least balance it out and not just be the crazy ranting uncle.

Pretty much the same, I still think its all a puppet show and there is only one party (The US Gov) and we are merely led to believe that our vote changes anything. Trump showed me that it does matter who you vote for, but only because of the POTUS ability to rile up stupid people that are blindly patriotic.

And this is what pushed me hard left. The system is rigged to cater to the rich, full stop. When it comes to choosing between D or R it normally boils down to: "Which decision will make the lives of minorities and LGBTQ members fractionally better?" It's clearly D, but when it comes to systemic issues as a whole and wealth inequality, D & R play for the same team. I've become completely disillusioned with the whole system.

Edit: Basically what I'm asking is, is getting Juneteenth as a holiday an acceptable payoff for not getting a minimum wage hike, health care, police reform, climate reform, and free college? Because that's what you get with Democrats. You'll get holidays, you'll get parades, you'll even get some sound bites in support for your cause, but actual action? No. That just simply "can't" be done, or so we're told. Don't get me wrong, you'll get nothing with Republicans and I'm certainly not advocating that anyone vote for them, but I'm asking if your ('your' being general and not directed to the quoted poster) vote for D is worth what you're getting in return?

Grew up in a really conservative family and community and went to a private school that was also conservative, and... I wasn't a rebel, lol. So ten years ago I was well into adulthood but while my stance had softened a bit on some social issues I was still a very loyal republican.

I liked Mittens a lot, but then Trump just imploded my political views... because it wasn't just him, it was 90% of republicans--both elected officials as well as just people I know in regular life--absolutely abandoned all the principles they used to claim they stood for.

So while I wouldn't really consider myself liberal, I did vote for Biden (after a throwaway third party vote in 2016 because obviously Hillary was going to in in a landslide >_>), and I am much more open to a fair bit of liberal views and policies now, and less so to a lot on the right--but yeah, I'm not at home in either party. So I went from fairly conservative to straddling the fence I guess.

I would say I'm more liberal now. I used to actually consider voting for Republicans, but there's no way in hell I would do that today. They're pretty much using a new form of the southern strategy to whitewash slavery, jim crow, etc., and they've pretty much given control of the party to Donald Trump of all people.
