There's been so many fucked up cases of police brutality that came to light over the last month but as someone on the spectrum this one's affected me the most. Apparently one of the "suspicious behaviors" that prompted the 911 call in the first place was him flailing his arms - a common form of stimming for people on the spectrum that I do myself - and that combined with him being an "introvert" leads me to believe he was autistic as well. Obviously the racial dynamic should be acknowledged here, but I hope people also begin to address police brutality against the disabled in light of this story.

I mean he was also walking around in the middle of the night in the middle of summer in a full ski mask...

In the last couple years it has become a lot more prevelant to use it as a restraint before loading someone experiencing excited delirium into an ambulance because it is one of the safest sedatives out there.

The granting of an immediate appeal will not eliminate the possibility of two trials or the possibility of successive appeals involving interlocking facts, Klausner wrote Tuesday. The court has declined the parties request to stay trial pending the resolution of any appeal. And should a jury render a verdict unfavorable to plaintiffs on their remaining claims, there is no reason to think plaintiffs will not appeal that decision.

Klausner ruled on May 1 that the women couldn't prove discrimination over pay and stated the union for the USWNT rejected an offer to be paid under the same structure as the USMNT. The women, instead, accepted guaranteed salaries and greater benefits along with a different bonus structure.

I can't believe they are still putting on this sexism charade, they were offered the exact same contract as the mens team and turned it down. This false victim-hood is pretty gross and damaging to real victims of sexism in the workplace out there.

Uh no. Alien/Aliens is treated a lot like Terminator/T2 where both the sequel and the original are well loved, and there are a lot of people that prefer the sequel.

what I want to see is an animated movie of a comic event called "Dark Knights: Metal"

the justice league discovers that there is a "dark multiverse" where every universe in it is corrupted and evil. its basically a string of universes where things end up twisted. and what ends up happening is a group of versions of Batman from this dark multiverse team up, all corrupted or failed versions of Bruce Wayne. the leader is known only as The Batman Who Laughs, and is a Batman that got infected by a virus that changed his brain to think like Joker and he murdered the entire Batfamily and the Justice League in his universe. and all these Dark Batmen invade the main normal universe and the Justice League has to fight them. apparently there is now a sequel where The Batman Who Laughs has somehow become a god or something but I haven't read it.

I really would love to see The Batman Who Laughs in an animated movie.

I read DKM, it was built on a great premise and The Batman Who Laughs is one of the best villains they have come up with recently (and I heard he has been great in future comics since DKM), I thought the main storyline in the comic was very meh. All the tie ins though were amazing, like the Teen Titans and Suicide Squad fighting various evil Batmen, and of course all the Dark Multiverse stories showing how Bruce Wayne went so evil in all these different universes were all amazing.

According to the Smithsonian institute it originates from the Montagnais language, which is an Inuit language, not from French. The French traders just adopted the native term when they encountered them.

I'm not too familiar with the case, but were the officers here just following orders or were they more involved than that?

Like were they not involved with the investigation and just handed a warrant and told "We think this is a drug dealers house, go in and execute this no knock warrant"? Or were they the same officers who did the investigating, went to the judge and asked for the no knock warrant, and knew exactly what they were getting into?
