Press Garden reminded me of Vector Man for some reason. I liked the aesthetics though.

Overall, the original zones, except Mirage Saloon, werent that great imo. Good, not great. Cant place my finger on why I feel that way though.

I'm also not a fan of the art style. Showed it to the waifu, she even mentioned how she loved the OP's composition, but disliked the art style.

That OP is super cool. I mean, specifically the animation with all the comic panels. The pop remix is cool too though.

But the writing is great so far and the voices are on point. Despite some tweaks and modernization, everyone still feels exactly as I remember them. Except for Mrs. Beakly and the nephews. But the latter is an improvement, and the former isn't bad.

Anyways, if you want to prepare for Mania just to catch all the shoutouts and references, the only games you would need to play are 1, 2, 3, &K, and CD. Maybe "Mean Bean Machine" and "Sonic the Fighters".

Speaking of Sonic the Fighters, can we just really appreciate that flipping Knack, Bean, and Bark were all acknowledged in this game?

So I finally got all the emeralds.

The Final Boss is such bullshit lol. And Super Sonic is super unwieldly. But it's fun.

But if you fuck up you have to do the entire Final Level all over. My advice is to stockpile a bunch of lives before attempting to beat the last zone with all the emeralds.

Also, about the controls:

Pressing "jump" while flying does a super dash that eats 10 rings. But pressing "jump" is also how you become unstunned after getting hit, or begin flying after getting grounded. So be careful.

SEGA pulled the plug on a major Streets of Rage fan-project a while ago, so they aren't always super nice.

But in general, they seem to be a lot less traditional and set in their ways as a company than Nintendo.

You can make the case for "Black Culture" by pointing to various historical elements in America, like music (Jazz, Rock) and different communities (Black churches, for example). Same with other minority ethnicities.

But "White" culture isn't really a thing. If there are cultures attributed to white ethnicities, it's innately divided by nationality or region, like Italian, Irish, etc. And unlike "White" culture, nobody is attacking or threatening those. Nobody thinks you're weird if you say "I'm proud of my Italian heritage and culture".

Can we talk a little about Pirates? And about how they had a tidy little corner of the New World on complete lockdown for a good while?

Ninjas have martial arts, mysticism, and yaoi fanfiction, but here's what you may not know about pirates.

You see, way back in the 17th century, being a sailor sucked ass. You were either a slave to a merchant vessel, with your wages manipulated and withheld to control you; or forcibly conscripted into the Navy. Living conditions for sailors on voyage have been described as barely above those given to slaves and criminals.

Then came pirates, who said "Fuck this bullshit." They developed a system of democracy, and, in a number of ways, were more lucrative and -more importantly- more fair to anyone on the crew.

Not that pirates were particularly nice people. Freedom and democracy only goes so far when you steal, rape, murder, and bribe. And how well the pirate ethos benefited a sailor depended on the captain. But for a good while, pirates were THE people not to fuck with. They were a giant middle finger to the overbearing, oppressive government atmosphere at the time.

Remember in 'Black Sails' when Charles Vane sailed a burning ship into a naval barricade and it fucking exploded, while him and Blackbeard escaped by night? That's not Premium Cable flourish. That actually happened.

Just beat it without the emeralds. Only dissapointment was how few sonic 1 remixes there were. I know some of the gimmicks were in stages, but no Starlight Zone? No Spring Yard? Come on man

Also that last stage was way to freaking long. Lol.

Overall it was great though. Gotta get those emeralds.

Thought it was great. Loved how the nephews have individual personalities. Love Webby's new characterization. Love that Donald is in. Lost it when Donald was in the interview room and peeking at that woman's resume. Also, was that one of the girls from the Goofy Movie? <_<

Not digging the animation, but that can't be helped these days. Very few things will look as fluid and nice as those old Disney cartoons. I do, however, like the art direction and character designs. So it makes up for it.
