They didn't make it any worse than the Prequel Era already made it. But they haven't really done anything good besides Rogue One.

TFA was a "good" movie, but it was also super boring. Prequels were bad, but they at least told an interesting story that others could run with. TFA gave us Empire 2, featuring Death Star 3.

It's not that it's too dark or too over the top. It's that Snyder does not have a competent grasp on the characters beyond the most superficial elements of these characters.

Dark Superman stories have been told, and told well. But Snyder's films were not any of them.

And for Batman. Jury's out right now. Had we gotten a proper follow up that explored the "fallen" Batman that stopped caring about human life, it might have had a decent payoff to that character arc. But Superman died without really being very inspiring and Batman just sort of shrugged off his BVS persona in the final scene. So it's not looking good.

And the title fight sucked. The entire fight hinged on one completely dominating the other. A better writer, director, a better anybody would have said, "okay, instead of this kryptonite dosage turning Supes into a punching bag, we'll have him almost dodge and not get the full dose, and he'll still be significantly more powerful than Batman, but withing a threshold where he can realistically be beaten."

Then we'd have an interesting fight where a full-powered Batman fights Superman using all his powers in some capacity. Instead we get Kryptonite Hot Potato where one side just wails on the other until the plot demands they be completely powerless.

That all said, the Doomsday fight was hot fire and Man of Steel wasn't awful. Justice League could be good because it's supposed to just be a bunch of famous heroes beating up bad guys. Which is what Snyder is good at.

I remember Starscream ended up with one of the most powerful minibots in one episode and in like the very next one he loses it with very little fanfare. I need to re-watch that series and find out what actually happens.

Was it one of the legendary three-mini-bots-in-one weapons?

I remember him with...I think it was the Star Sabre but I thought he held onto that for a while.

I never actually watched it lol. I just rented VHS tapes from Blockbuster as a kid. I didn't even watch a lot of Transformers ones because I only cared about the Dinobots back then lol. I was more of a Ninja Turtles guy.

Every episode this prick is like, "Megatron, Im going to kill you and take over as leader of Decepticons!"

And Megatron just sort of laughs. "Thats our Statscream!" Sometimes he'll slap him around to make a point.

But then Megatron just...turns into a gun. And gives himself to Starscream. Why didnt Statscream just snap Megatron in half, declare a tactical retreat, and re-organize? For all his grandiose ambition he never had any initiative.

Last time I saw a topic where people were hating Gavi for something he was actively doing and admitting, had something to do with sex videos he was making and some deal with the actress's contract. But that was ages ago and I can't remember the details.

He's usually fine on CE. Though the "paying users to kiss his ass" thing is weird. Reminds me of that year Vince McMahon made that a gimmick for the WWE. >_>

Big Boss's relevance to the plot of Solid can be summed up in a single line of dialogue. Most current MGS fans never played the first two games before playing Solid, and didn't need to understand much about them to understand Solid. Leave the remainder of his character and legacy up to whoever portrays Solid and Liquid, since his villain persona is primarily important because of how it affects those two.

Season 2, imo, is really strong but the last game is drawn out a little too much. Some batshit crazy shenanigans make it worth it though, imo.

I dunno. "Better" translations usually just mean "more direct" translations when it comes to video games. And even discounting memes, a lot of the original's charm seems to be nerfed in favor of "authenticity". I can't think of many games that were re-translated, that were improved significantly as a result.

The only exception tends to be with much older games, where a severe lack of space meant making large cuts and compromises just to fit all the text. Or in certain cases of censorship or typos. Though the latter doesn't require a from-the-ground-up translation.

As for FF7, I wouldn't want modern Square touching the script at all. Every attempt to edit, improve, or expand FF7 has turned it more and more into insufferably moody chuuni-bait. >_>

Without making any judgment on TC's appearance, I'm pretty sure she's in her late teens. And that's generally the time in life where it's easiest (in terms of resources and social acceptance) to experiment with your appearance.

Oh this is easy. Unless the time travel is a universal rewind, there is no loop.

Guy (18 years old) travels back from 2000 one year and lives 1999 out normally.

When 2000 happens again, He is now Guy (19 years old). Guy (18 years old) still exists in 2000 of course, and will travel back in time as already happened.

The real paradox happens when Old Guy and Young Guy interact, and prevent Young Guy from time travelling as he originally did. But then, if you're not Old Guy, it's not your problem.

It's also super depressing when you consider how time travel actually works in that universe.

How you solve a paradox depends on how you write your story. Time Travel doesn't actually exist in the way it's used in fiction, so as long as the logic is internally consistent it's fine.
