As I no longer have a Chester Updates topic and Chester is sorta art-ish I'll just post the occasional updates in here! (Plus more activity in this topic is always good!)

Working on porting it to Unity, which will open up Mac and Linux support + should allow me to do some more fun things. Shifting camera angles, more things going on at once, better particle system, actual 3d elements, and more. When this version is done I'll probably dub it 1.2 (1.1 was adding in the planets, bestiary, shop, and end boss.)
Might have a web-demo showcasing a few of these new things soon.

Then have another drawing of the same arch in a more comic-backgroundy feel. That one doesn't fit on my scanner so I'll have to take a photo later on.

Amazing.

I'd keep it the way it is, because I think clouds might obscure the detail of the upper branches; I like how they stand out against the sky.

Yeah, that was my main reasoning behind leaving them out.

That is incredible!
There's definitely a sense of the tree sticking out in the foreground. (The top half of the tree blends with the background a little more, though.)

But dang!

Most of the top half blending in is the flash from the camera. I'll take a nicer photo of it this weekend.

AGHGAHGAHGAHGFHG.
Was playing public act two and came across two pairs of those wasps that shoot slow bugs at you at once.
One pack was illusion+molten so all of the ground was death and the other pack had vortex so you got pulled into instant death.
Also the screen looked like a bullet hell of tiny bullets that if two hit you you were dead. D:

Ended up doing something new for the background. Picked up some India Ink and a calligraphy pen thingy.
Like it, but wish I had mixed the gray to be a bit on the lighter side. The difference in tone between the tree and the rest is more visible in person, but still would have liked there to be a larger difference.



Can't decide if I should add clouds or if I like the imbalance.
