It should create a new save file for you based on your old one. Nothing in the new version will carry back to your old save file though.
It's still a bit limited and has quite a bit more work needed before I release the alpha more publicly (menu designs, mouse support, missing enemy types, more styles, actually switching Chesters, etc) but figured I'd let a small amount of people try it out in its current state.

First build of the new engine should be up on Steam this weekend!

Still won't quite be the complete game, but it's getting there. You'll be able to play through pretty much all of the game but there just might be some missing enemies here and there. Also it'll probably crash at least once? We'll see.

Could anyone try installing the beta branch and tell me what Content Build ID it installs? Beta access code for the branch is "hathathathat"
You can see your build ID by right clicking the game in your library->properties->local files and it should show in the bottom.

For the life of me I can't get it to install a new test build and trying to see if it is something with my computer or with the build itself.
