the point is stories change constantly its the nature of storytelling

some times you get some great some times you get something bad

but wanting stories to stay the same goes against the nature of storytelling

With adaptations you can't just change things for the sake of changing things

most disney animated films make MASSIVE changes to the original material

the little mermaid barely has anything in common with the original story for example

And Disney does what Disney does and most of us probably never read the source materials prior to seeing those movies where as I bet a decent if not most people that watched the live action Cowboy Bebop has seen the anime.

so again its because you grew up with a specific thing that makes it sacrosanct but things you didnt grow up with are allowed to make changes

ppl like you are why transformers is stuck with G1 nostalgia pandering

and pokemon is stuck with G1

and power rangers worshiping mighty morphin

hell starship troopers is an adaption of a novel and most ppl prefer the movie which is very very different

yes some adaptions like the last airbender film are garbage

but that dont mean every adaption will be bad

you brought up cowboy bebop so let me explain why i like the live action adaption

it lets ppl besides spike actually do something

faye was nothing but eye candy in the original needing spike to rescue her several times and the camera making sure to make lots of panning shots to show how sexy she was

she was not allowed to catch any MAJOR bounties herself

so yea i like both the original anime and the live action cowboy bebop i think they are both enjoyable for different reasons

Adaptations change things all the time, but how well those changes hold up can vary wildly.

Aang was such a mary-sue. Except yanno he wasn't above lying, goofing off, arguing with people, losing his temper, being rude, letting his ego get the better of him, stealing, or scamming people out of cash. What he did do was learn from his mistakes, and he admitted he was wrong. No one will ever accuse him of being flawless. But sure keep on.

even thoe there are plenty of famous and successful none super hero comics in america

hell thanks to the internet there are 10000s of successful and popular american made comics with no super heros in them

and reminder MARVEL was the one to take down the comics code authority ( a key player in the death of none super hero comics)

and it was writers like niel gaimen that popularized none super hero works

hell as much as i hate frank miller he did put out some good darker super hero stuff in the 80s

meanwhile edge lords like garth and mark get by soley on edge for the sake of edge that never reaches any real main stream appeal unless its an adaption that turns their garbage into a workable story

That is still partially because of how narrative design for Korra was designed to side step a good chick of her Avatar powers when she already mastered three of the four elements prior to being discovered as the next Avatar at like what age four or five?

she had not mastered shit she could just bend the elements

yeah it took korra like almost 20 years to do the same iirc

aang struggles with earh bending for ONE EPISODE then never has issues with it again

korra struggles with air bending for an entire season and even after that she is never exactly a top tier air bender

aang is always right any time a character disagrees with aang they go through development to learn he was right

korra is constantly wrong and has to learn lessons and figure out how to be the avatar in a changing world

aang recovers from the trauma he suffers in the season 2 final

korra spends all of season 4 recovering from her trauma at the fall out of season 3

hell korra suffers trauma i n every season final except the last

There's also very few studios capable of 2D animation anymore. They would likely have to contact a Korean or Japanese studio, and if they don't want it to look like shit it will be very expensive.
