It is a natural and biological reaction. The choice to never reproduce and pass on to another generation is in most cases, a selfish one. You have your parents who sacrificed a chunk of their life giving themselves and everything they have to you. Then you have your parent's parents who did the same thing for them. This pattern can be traced back to the dawn of time. The present result from your particular branch of life is you. You are the current result of thousands of years of sacrifice and giving. What are you going to do with such a blessing? Do you think your life is too great to sacrifice? You don't want kids because they are an "inconvenience" (not saying this is your reason but I felt this needed to be said because a lot of people feel this way). Are you in such an important position in life that you cannot be bothered with raising children?

Raising a family is objectively one of the greatest and important things that man can accomplish. If you don't want to give back all you've learned and know to your own blood, then the end result of all those who came before you is, you. Would your life make them proud?

No. I'm sick of villains being redeemed just because they were once good. Have a guy who started good but was irreversibly corrupted for once. Kylo's just right for the job, he's already a patricide and tinkering with his backstory with Luke(instead of what we were actually given) can make him even more villainous.

For the latter part, the role of minorly clashing with Plagueis with Rey but losing and escaping should be Old Luke's.

I'm okay with this too.

Keep Snoke alive. Reveal he's Darth Plagueis. Keep Luke Alive. Have Kylo turn good. Rey and Kylo fight Darth Plagueis but lose and barely manage to escape.

Then Luke joins them and they team up against Darth Plagueis in episode 9.
