FLUFFYGERM 06/02/18 1:55:11 PM #1:	Modern conservatism isn't even conservatism. What are modern conservatives even conserving anymore? They want to spend a shit ton of money on pointless wars and a massive defense budget that gets bigger all the time even though we don't have an imminent threat. They champion the surveillance state because of "da terrorists and think of da children" Modern leftists have their own flavor of regression, with the toxic and divisive identity politics and literal demands for socialism in 2018. It's like there's no real place for people who notice the craziness of the current left/right. You can't be in the middle because then you are alienated from most people who are buying into the hyper-partisan bullshit going on right now. Makes me just want to never again pay attention to any politics whatsoever, focus on my own skills / cash / goals, and just cruise through life. The greatest irony is that both the left and the right could have both of their goals taken care of if everyone was moderate. Example: Less bloated defense budget = less wasteful spending = more could be spent on roads / infrastructure / healthcare = happier population = less division = less hate = less meddling abroad = less enemies to force us to spend on bloated defense needs. Less identity politics = less division = less risk of domestic terrorism = less need for "think of da childrenz" and etc --- Do good.
