Literally none of the characters mentioned ITT can be considered the worst when Nozomi Suemitsu exists. Of all the bad P3 social links, that guy can go fuck himself the most.

For what it's worth, in Rondo of Blood you can save at the start of each room and practice it as much as you need to get a decent run. So while it's still a hard game, it isn't completely unforgiving. And once you unlock Maria, literally the only challenging thing left to do is killing Dracula as Richter for a trophy/achievement.

Apparently the game over painting is in the Dance Hall area. Why it represents Soma's demise, I'unno. Been a while since I've played so can't even really check if it's there.

Keeping the Alucard weapons + Luck mode trivializes the game.

Keeping the starting equipment would fall under glitches and exploits, unfortunately. So even in Luck mode you'd have to go all natural.

Not in Aria of Sorrow specifically, but in Dawn of Sorrow there's a bad ending that leads directly into that game's Julius Mode, where you play as Julius, Alucard and Yoko. The final boss is Soma, and he has his own arrangement of Dance of Illusions.

I love the og BoF trilogy, but I would not see the hype for a regular port/kollection. 1 & 2 are free on the Switch Online library and 3 (and 4) are on the Vita. I'm not double dipping for fancier pixeles unless they're in that Octopathy 3.5D.

Being "free" on a subscription service and available on a discontinued handheld means nothing to people who have neither of those.

The Granblue part amuses me since it only mentions Ladiva, and not Cagliostro who used fantasy!alchemy to fully transition, or Vira who has a yandere-coded obsession with Katalina, or Belial being perpetually horny for the entire cast.

Considering Legend of the Galactic Heroes is still stalling out, I wouldn't take anything for granted these days. Still though, more Spice and Wolf coming will make me very happy. I wonder if they'll adapt more Side Colors stories than just the one where Holo gets sick.

Dropped Genshin a long time ago, don't plan on trying ZZZ since I'm already spending a bit of money every month on HSR, and I just know that if I get too invested in ZZZ I'll start spending money on that too eventually, and I don't want to do that.

Since you asked about HSR's story, first Belobog arc is peak, first Xianzhou Luofu arc suffers from bad writing, Penacony is an overly verbose yapfest, the recent Trailblaze Continuance was peak, first Xianzhou Continuance is peak because of the characters involved, Argenti shows up basically everywhere, and that's okay because he's beautiful and based.

TLDR, bit of a mixed bag, with Penacony and first Xianzhou stories being the only ones I'd call outright bad. Also, the protagonist is hilarious, with some blessedly out of pocket dialog options and an inexplicable trash can obsession. Almost worth playing just for their chaotic antics.

Dante's quippy because it pisses off his opponents, and he's usually balanced out by a Straight Man who's taking the situation far more seriously than he is. I stopped watching MCU when it felt like every major character started quipping, and the cast felt more homogenized as a result. And to Dante's credit, he does drop the quips when shit starts getting heavy, usually because of family drama. He's a showboater who likes to have fun with his job, but he fully understands when to start taking things seriously.

I am once again here to shill Spice and Wolf. Best romance anime about medieval-esque era economics.

I've tried graphics mode a few times on the PS5 Spider-Man games, even just swinging around it looked noticeably choppier. Performance for life.

Seriously, just watch Spice and Wolf. Holo is legit one of the best written anime/light novel characters of all time.

Should probably specify what I like about this, eh? Well, the main characters are properly fleshed out for one thing. And despite technically being a fantasy series, the main conflicts throughout the narrative are typically more grounded than most. It's a great series if you like actually clever banter and a main cast consisting of grown adults who have to use their heads to deal with actual adult problems.

IDK probably Sonic Adventure. I always found those games to be a mess with bad controls, graphics, voice acting, and level design yet so many people tout them as the only great 3D Sonic games.

Specifically referring to SA1, did you play Dreamcast or DX version? The DX versions are trash, but modding the Steam version so that it's more like the Dreamcast version makes it hold up a bit better imo. Wouldn't say it's one of the only great 3D games though, that's kind of a stretch no matter how much I enjoyed Sonic's gameplay in SA1.

Sonic Generations on Steam. I had all achievements, literally everything S ranked, including challenges, somehow got my save reverted to an older save. Didn't want to redo everything from the Dreamcast era onward, so I rage uninstalled.

Haha I wish Berseria didn't have that fucking awful weapon system. It's basically here's 5 spears we'd rather do this this than give you money and the small incremental increases to damage when "craft" will only matter to the top 2 percent of players.

"Here's a new accessory! It'll be the only one you get for a while until it starts spawning in shops and dropping from monsters, now have fun only letting one character master it at a time until we let you get more! I just played on Hard which is just normal difficulty there but omg. That was some of the most reckless fun I ever had in a videogame.

Velvet: literally too angry to die.
Everyone else: requires actual thinking, gets swarmed in dangerous encounters, dies.

Probably the most lopsided party in modern Tales of.

Considering their track record with abusing Symphonia's poor dilapidated carcass I'm at least waiting to see if it's 60 fps. Including all costumes would be nice as well considering they did that for Vesperia.

Original anime adapted up to volume 5 while skipping volume 4 entirely (and replacing Yarei for some reason). Current adaptation is shaping up to be more faithful to the light novels so far, with season 2 currently adapting volume 4.

Yes, and my current favorite is the Spice and Wolf remake. I'd even recommend it to people who don't like anime, the source material is that well written.

I know it relies on two dumb anime tropes clashing together, but Male Morgan x Severa is hilarious to me. The lad's literally so dense that he doesn't realize he got married in this support.

Maybe Visions of Mana feels better on PS5 because it should at least not fucking chug and stutter all the time on that than on PS4. Star Ocean 6 was the same, it felt like it could barely run on PS4 and had framerate dips on PS5. But man Star Ocean 6 looks nice.

Not especially. Framerate is iffy on graphics mode, and performance mode...well I ain't exactly Digital Foundry, but performance mode didn't feel great either. Could just be the gameplay itself feeling stiffer, idk.

My condolences. Also I've seen both KOTOR games go down to about 3 bucks or so if you don't mind waiting.

Just get the PC version it runs on toasters. No reason to play any other version.

Generations on PC is legitimately dope. They're doing a remaster with Shadow, so maybe wait on that to play it

Going for full achievement completion can be a minor headache due to its poor netcode. In my case, Chemical Plant Act 2 would instantly CTD whenever I selected it after first completing it in online mode. That was the only issue thankfully, but sheesh anyway, lol.

Damn, you had more perseverance than I did. I started trying to 100% the game, but I noped out at having to S rank all of the stages on both normal and hard mode.

I wanna say that S ranking Sonic's Crisis City and Silver's Radical Train were the most infuriating because you need a good ring bonus for the S ranks. Sonic's White Acropolis on hard mode gets a dishonorable mention because you have to actually play the stage, unlike normal mode where you can just run to the end for the time bonus. Shadow's Kingdom Valley was infuriating just because of the falling towers that you have to carefully navigate in the beginning. I vaguely recall a town mission where you had 0 rings and at least 1 invisible enemy you have to contend with, that can go fuck itself as well. And there was one Silver town mission where you have to put apples in a barrel or something like that, except instead of actually doing that I abused an esoteric glitch where if you drop 50 apples in the barrel and then wander off and fall to your death, you end the mission somehow with a massive time bonus. And anyone who tries to get all the silver medals without a video guide is a legit psychopath. Yeah, none of that shit was worth 1000/1000 gamerscore.

I beat Frontiers pretty recently (first one I've finished since Adventure 2). I think they start you out with a few songs and then you can find more in the environment. It will eventually cycle back to the default and stick there though.

If you're willing to do a good bit of fishing, you can bypass a lot of the grindy bits of "exploration". I think I did less and less of the optional stuff with each island just because it got old.

I had a similar mindset at first, but I ended up doing everything anyway when they implemented a reward for full 100% completion which is literally just a crown costume so not worth it lul. Wouldn't have bothered with all that without the spindash being as OP as it is in this game.

Generations is on PC, as is Frontiers. Frontiers in particular was just pretty good at first, but then the update that lets you decrease aerial deceleration made it pure dopamine.

Oh, and there's also Mania of course if you get a hankering for 2D gameplay. SADX is high tier if you mod the shit out of it.

Nonono. You can like it for whatever reason, but we dont need to rewrite history for Sonic.

Remember, Sonics first stage had that auto-runner part where if you touch anything, you die. And the controls are like an ice stage in a shovelware ps1 game.

Shadows first stage has a vehicle that also controls like well, a bad game.

nothing about 06 is GoAT, aside from maybe some music. This is a legit bad game that deserves the thrashing. It ruined a franchise that was already going down a dark path, and it also made an easy target for Youtubers, starting up THAT trend too

I know vanilla 06 is bad lol, I 100%ed that turd so I reckon I'd know that better than most here. Project 06 made those shitty stages good though. That's what I was referring to.

The only character I outright didn't enjoy playing in P-06 was Silver, as I think he's just a bit too fast for the level design. Aside from the Rouge sections though, Sonic and Shadow stages were GOATed, straight up more fun than actual Sonic games.
