I am an old school Fire Emblem fan and still love Awakening.

If anything not being a huge fan of the series direction since then made me appreciate Awakening more for doing it well the first time.

MGS4 is a good shout out though-- the story always had problems but now seeing where the games have gone since it feels a lot less satisfying.

Like PC gamers knew Goldeneye was no good back when it came out too, but they were a minority back then

It took console gamers until Halo to know what good FPS gameplay was-- doesn't mean it wasn't always bad though. And that's why it's getting so many voteshere.

People agreed it was a bit of a problem back then

It's the same thing. That's literally what it means for a game to age poorly. It's not like these games change their fundamental properties-- It's all about what our standards are.

Us not realizing like 12fps sucked for the kind of FPS Goldeneye was going for back in the day doesn't mean it didn't age because the framerate was always bad and we didn't know better.

FFX is still completely great though. Gameplay holds up fine. Much better than any of FF7-9.

It may shock you but I actually liked FFIX more in the past. I actually beat Ozma. I was never a fan of the story or most of the cast but I used to think the gameplay was satisfying and I liked Vivi.

Playing it these days with those drag ass battles is ROUGH though. I tried replaying it 2017 or 2018 and could not get further than the end of disk 1. Note I had replayed FF7, FF8, FFT and Suikoden 1/2 in the same time period and they all held up better (Suikoden games held up perfectly and were a total blast)

I don't think FFIX hasn't aged-- I just think nostalgia may have counteracted it aging and then some in terms of the fanbase. But that again doesn't mean it hasn't aged it just means its fanbase doesn't care it has.

Heck that also makes him deal with Red Hulk, Blob, Tribunal, all sorts of dumb cards

But he'd be less crippling across the board so he'd be ok

If Leech is really meant to be a Hela counter I don't see why it can't just remove the abilities on the highest cost card(s-- hit all of the ones of the highest cost) in the opponent's hand and move him to the 2 or 3 cost zone as a Spider Pig like card

Wow yeah that is a pretty ridiculous combo I haven't actually seen yet.

Oh yeah that's what I've been doing with blink almost exclusively. Very satisfying and effective.

Junction system is awesome
Draw system and being fooled into thinking drawing is the best way to get stock of spells is the bad part
Change how draw works, leave junction system as is, great system

Flip side I have all the 5 to 4s aside from Silk. But the 4 to 3s are more important
