GeneralKenobi85 09/22/24 10:19:15 AM #75 | Paper Mario I think. I've not really played many RPGs overall. And probably like half of the ones I have played are Mario RPGs. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | Best Pokemon Tournament: Round 12 |
GeneralKenobi85 09/21/24 8:01:43 PM #8 | Toxicroak is one of the coolest Pokemon they've ever made. Cinderace has an interesting theme, but it's probably the lamest fully evolved starter in the series. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | Literally a brand new Zelda game coming in a week |
GeneralKenobi85 09/20/24 5:42:32 PM #45 | I think it sharing the same art style as Link's Awakening remake is the only real reason it might not feel like a main Zelda game. Obviously, it absolutely is one though. I'm excited for it and will be playing day one. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/19/24 7:49:51 PM #24 | Even with bases being easier to steal now more than ever, Ohtani is still second in all of baseball this year in Stolen Bases. Yes, he certainly has an advantage comparative to historical players with the new bases. Still, unquestionably an absolutely legendary offensive season. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

Topic | Could Treebeard have fucked up the Witch King of Angmar? |
GeneralKenobi85 09/18/24 4:46:58 PM #10 | Seaman_Prime posted... IIRC he did have the power of invulnerability and there was a prophecy that no man would ever kill him, and he really took that to heart.Although when Eowyn did reveal herself to be a woman, it made him briefly hesitate in doubt. Ultimately, it's less that "no man can kill me" and more that nothing could kill him under normal circumstances. Barrow Blades aren't easy to come across, and virtually nobody had the courage to stand up to the Witch King in combat like Eowyn did. But that's what ultimately did him in. So I don't think Treebeard could kill him, but maybe he could fuck him up a bit? Maybe getting stomped on by an ent could at least briefly put a Nazgul out of commission? I have no idea. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/18/24 4:35:42 AM #10 | You'll never need to play multiplayer again now that Followers are going to be the new norm. But also, solo is better anyway. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/17/24 2:46:33 PM #3 | I think all the Eeveelutions are rather overrated. Leafeon is one of the cooler ones, but it's nothing compared to Hydreigon. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | Name a/some Pokemon you like that other people don't |
GeneralKenobi85 09/17/24 2:45:08 PM #51 | I think all the Pokemon based off of inanimate objects get a lot of unfair hate. And usually the likes of Voltorb and Grimer are brought up as a counterargument when people are critical of newer ones like Klefki, Garbodor, etc.. But honestly I think Voltorb is absolutely brilliant in its design. I like the more complex Pokemon, but Voltorb's simplicity makes it so effective as a Pokemon design. Also, I think regular Weezing is one of the best Pokemon ever made. I don't think it's that unpopular because it is a Gen 1 Pokemon after all. And it had a significant presence in the anime. But I think even then, it's pretty underrated. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/15/24 7:05:34 PM #8 | Pidgeot is decent, but it's not even the best Normal/Flying bird in its Generation. Fearow is much cooler. Dodrio too actually. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | I nevery had Sushi before guys. |
GeneralKenobi85 09/15/24 12:07:28 PM #9 | I only tried it for the first time this past year and I've only ever had salmon. It's absolutely delicious though. The grocery store I work at is considered to have some pretty good sushi. I'd like to try some of the other types, but I'm not exactly sure what I can and can't eat since I have a shellfish allergy. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/14/24 5:29:51 PM #4 | Mustache battle Weezing's gonna lose pretty bad, but I do like both Weezings more than Alakazam. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

Like I mean, if this was SirFetch'D I'd see it, but really CE?Sirfetch'd is actually in the next bracket, but it'll probably get obliterated because it's up against Mudkip. So I guess if you're a fan of either, Farfetch'd does have a better chance of advancing. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | Best Pokemon Tournament: Round 6 |
GeneralKenobi85 09/13/24 5:50:11 PM #6 | I prefer regular Arcanine, but the Hisuian isn't bad. Better than Farfetch'd. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/11/24 2:09:42 PM #2 | Never liked Ninetales that much, Alolan or regular. Sandslash gets my vote. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/11/24 9:03:41 AM #52 | Blue_Popo posted... I cant get behind this at allI don't think it's the best though. Alien and Aliens are clearly better films. But Predator is close and probably my favorite if I had to pick. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | Watched Predator first time (SPOILERS) |
GeneralKenobi85 09/10/24 9:19:31 PM #48 | Predator might be my overall favorite of the combined Alien, Predator, and AVP franchises. I absolutely love the scenes near the end where Dutch is prepping for his fight with the Predator. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | Best Pokemon Tournament: Round 3 |
GeneralKenobi85 09/10/24 4:35:28 PM #12 | I also think Charizard is pretty overrated, but he's still cool. Toxtricity isn't too bad, but it's not as good as Charizard. Depending on the outcome of the next match though, this might be the only time I vote for Charizard this tournament. Venusaur got totally robbed though. Only one of the three final stage Kanto starters that didn't make it. In fact, that whole line got totally screwed. It's rare to have a three stage Pokemon line be all outstanding designs like Bulbasaur's line is. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

Topic | Best Pokemon Tournament: Round 2 |
GeneralKenobi85 09/09/24 4:02:55 PM #6 | There are very few Pokemon I outright dislike. Zeraora has the honor of being one of those. I think it's for sure my least favorite in this tournament. Houndoom all the way. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | Why did The Boy And The Heron win best animated feature of 2024? |
GeneralKenobi85 09/08/24 5:27:39 PM #28 | I thought it was pretty good, but I would also agree it's on the lower end of the Miyazaki films for me. I didn't watch any of the other movies nominated for Animated film, so no comment there. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/08/24 3:09:24 PM #9 | Victreebel is cool, but Chandelure is better. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | I'm an hour into Outer Wilds and this is fucking crazy. |
GeneralKenobi85 09/07/24 11:56:32 AM #62 | I loved the main game, but I think my problem with the DLC is that it felt too tedious. I got tired of it just as I was starting to figure things out because it was just requiring too many repeated sessions of going into the Stranger and doing certain things in a certain order all within the confines of the time limit. It isn't quite like the base game, where once you have the knowledge, you can work toward it straight away after resetting. I think I should have probably taken a break before starting Echoes of the Eye. I went into it not too long after beating the base game. It's unfortunate that I couldn't bring myself to finish it though, because it looks like there was a lot of good stuff in there too. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | Best Pokemon Tournament: Preliminaries are OVER (final winner, tournament date) |
GeneralKenobi85 09/06/24 3:35:41 PM #39 | My predictions for who wins each bracket: Northwest: Charizard Southwest: Mimikyu Northeast: Mewtwo Southeast: Scizor I think Southwest could be a toss-up though. There are couple other Pokemon there that I could see winning too. And Scizor has a tough matchup in Round 3 vs. presumably either Aggron or Garchomp, but I think he'll take it. Charizard's bracket actually has a lot of strong Pokemon there. But it is Charizard at the end of the day. And I feel pretty safe about picking Mewtwo for that bracket. Though I could see Greninja having a small chance of challenging him. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
Topic | Godzilla vs. 4 Kaiju |
GeneralKenobi85 09/06/24 3:19:40 PM #12 | Irrelevant posted... I didn't like Final Wars much. Okay I could live with Godzilla being overpowered if the final battle was better. That last act had waaaaaaaaaay too much human action and soooo little kaiju action. Then a quick lame final battle between Kaiser Ghidorah and Godzilla. Now the Mutant soldiers vs. Ebirah cooked.I like the human action in Final Wars at least. It is a shame that Godzilla basically just steamrolled through almost every fight, but I don't think the human side of the plot is necessarily to blame for that. I consider Final Wars to be one of the better movies in the franchise overall. Definitely in the Top 10 Godzilla films for me. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

Topic | Best Pokemon Tournament: Preliminaries are OVER (final winner, tournament date) |
GeneralKenobi85 09/05/24 8:05:48 PM #21 | If this was up to the general populace, the only Pokemon who'd even have a chance of stopping Charizard in that first bracket is probably Gengar. But maybe CE will be different. If I recall, Chandelure had the highest vote percentage of any Pokemon in its preliminary round, but that could have mostly been due to the Pokemon it was matched up with. Would be nice to see it beat Charizard though. My favorite is Feraligatr. It should beat Pangoro easily in Round 1, but it's probably not likely to beat Metagross in Round 2. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/04/24 5:49:19 PM #18 | I'm not fond of the art style, but everything else about the game seems amazing. I loved BOTW and TOTK, but I'm glad to return to something that's somewhat closer to traditional Zelda. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 09/04/24 5:16:51 PM #22 | KogaSteelfang posted... I'm glad you liked it. Though, I thought the mutant at the end kind of ruined it. Not only did further cement the David stuff, but the monster was dumb looking, imo. While it obviously looked like an Engineer, it felt like more of a callback to I like how Romulus was able to implement elements from the all the other movies. GeneralKenobi85 09/02/24 2:38:58 PM #6 | Cynrascal posted... Yeah. They would finish 43-119 and a winning percentage of .265 if they can somehow pull that off. The league's worst record, in the World Series era, is the Mets' 1962 inaugural season where they finished 40-120 and a winning percentage of .250.Considering they only won 4 games total in August, their chances of dodging the record do not look good. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

Topic | Just watched Prometheus (SPOILERS) |
GeneralKenobi85 09/01/24 10:55:05 AM #11 | I liked Prometheus, but it does feel very detached from the rest of the franchise. It's a better film than Alien 3 and Resurrection, but at least those two still feel like they fit what Alien is all about. Covenant is easily the worst of the franchise in my opinion. Kaldrenthebold posted... I still think skipping resurrection is a mistake I think if TC plans on seeing Romulus, then they should go back and watch both Alien 3 and Resurrection. Romulus makes Resurrection more worth the watch in my opinion. And you kinda need to see Alien 3 to set up Resurrection. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |

GeneralKenobi85 08/28/24 5:48:40 PM #62 | I don't mind some kind of gimmick ability, as long as it's fun and not too overcentralizing. Compare the wirebug to the clutch claw for example. The wirebug is at least fun to use, and you could conceivably not use it that much and still put up an efficient fight against a monster. The clutch claw is an example of what not do do, because it's not fun to use and also too important a part of your offense. Hopefully Offset/Clash attacks are not like the clutch claw. --- Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi <sneaky beeping> |
