He's an absolute freak of an athlete who's already racked up enough of a career to be a first-ballot hall of famer... and the scariest part is that he's not even close to done yet. If you rank just his pitching among other pitchers, I'd say he would definitely be top 10 in the league based on what we saw while he was healthy, but not quite top 5 IMO. Never could catch me in anything of Dodgers praise. But over time it came to be that I could never really enjoy the sport at some point. No offense. Just got really boring and going to games just wore out. Fast forward about 2 decades later and I've been keeping tabs because of Shohei. I'll say I still can't get too excited about baseball, but it surely became something to give mind to again. Insane that this just "happens" to occur the one season where he's not doing two-way action.
