If I ever heard about him having a stroke I must have forgot about it. That really sucks. I used to follow Smash quite a bit from maybe 2015-2020. But I haven't really paid much attention since.

Screw Attack is generally the ability that really starts to illustrate to the player just how powerful Samus actually is.

I got Kelpie from that wheel. Sucks for people who live near bodies of water I guess. I think we'd figure out how to deal with them pretty quickly though. Looks like they can be killed by silver bullets/iron stakes, and warded off by the cross.

Screamy pods and bombs are so much hassle though. You need to get the materials, craft the pods, and then equip them ahead of time at the cost of other ammo that can wall bang. Then you only have a couple seconds to stop whatever you're doing and fire it off before you're getting launched. It's worse in other games though since you also have to sheathe your weapon and rush through your items for your Sonic Bombs.

I also hate diablos less in Rise though since you have better tools and options for dealing with all its big swings.

Yeah it's a flawed system. For one, screamer pods can't reliably be obtained in the hub like almost all other items. And then it's basically only useful against Diablos.

I like Rise Diablos a lot more because it doesn't go underground nearly as much in my experience. And also the desert map in Rise is so much more open than World's. I think Rise Diablos is also harder than World's despite all that and even factoring in stuff like wirebugs.

Diablos isn't too bad if you come prepared with Screamer Pods and Screamer Sacs that you can craft into Pods mid-combat. But it's massive, fast, and has some pretty dumb hitboxes, so a lot of people have trouble with it.

I like Rise Diablos a lot more.

You should be able to fight regular Rathian if you're at the Pink Rathian quest. Definitely make sure you do as many optional quests as you can.

Also, Divine Blessing is another great defensive skill to look out for.

I think it makes more sense to think of them as trickster type more than an evil type. Because you're right, obviously they can't all be actually evil.

And that's how I always rationalized their immunties and weaknesses I guess. Immune to Psychic because they're tricksters/deceptive I guess? Weak to Fighting because honorable combat beats underhanded tactics. Weak to Bug because bugs are simple-minded creatures and are foreign to the concept of being tricked or mentally manipulated in any way. Of course that last one would make a lot more sense if Bug actually resisted Dark and Psychic.

I don't normally watch full VTuber streams, but one of my friends told me to watch the FWMC 3D debut because they were teasing something wrestling-related. I was not expecting them to basically wrestle a whole damn match on the stream, complete with Fuwawa playing a heel. That was wild.

I tuned in just as the wrestling started. I'm usually not a fan of any 3D stuff since the models are just too uncanny and the movements are too awkward for me. But they certainly made it fun.

BotW made Zelda the absolute center of the universe, even to the point that Link's flashbacks are almost all about her. And apparently TotK just goes ass-first into retcon land. I'll take what SS did.

TotK has a lot of problems with its story, but the growing focus placed on Zelda is only a good thing for this series.

Health Boost is probably the most important skill in the game, so make sure you get that maxed. It's very easy to slot in since Health Boost decos are very common and are only one slot. The Rathian helm gives 2 points in Health Boost too, so I'd switch out your Rathalos helm for that. HR Rathian armor is obviously going to be defensively better too.

As far as the offensive skills, you generally want to prioritize critical eye, weakness exploit, and critical boost over attack boost. Attack Boost only gives you a marginal increase in damage, and a lot of people just like to get it to level 4 if they can just for the extra 5% affinity.

There is one particular dodge that you can do that has massive iframes. It's usually called the superman dive. You have to have your weapon sheathed and you need to be running in the opposite direction of the monster/toward the camera. Your hunter will dive and this avoids pretty much every single attack in the game.

I recommend learning how to use it, because you will need it.

Hatsune Miku is long overdue.

Valstrax is the most portable monster that ever portabled. Except maybe Ahtal-ka.

The distinction between portable and main series seems pretty much dead at this point. I'd love to see how Valstrax would work in a World style game.

Why's that? Valstrax is probably the best monster in Rise at least. Him and Goss are my most wanted monsters.

I'm not fond of the art style, but every other aspect of the game looks great. I have a feeling people who didn't like BOTW are going to be disappointed with this one too. Looks pretty inspired by it.

I think good dungeons are probably more important to a 2D Zelda than a 3D one, so hopefully they have those.

Alolan Muk, Exeggutor, and Marowak are all great. But I went with Exeggutor.

I think it's inevitable that more of them will graduate over time. But it could be for many reasons.

Focus mode doesn't seem as bad as I was expecting from the video they put out. I was expecting camera lock on and it seems it doesn't do that.

It looks better than the clutch claw by a mile at least.

they were not in world

No one is. Iceborne added the Raider Ride mechanic where you could ride friendly small monsters like Jagras or Kestodon. You couldn't control them, but they would take you directly to any spot you mark on the map, or just to the target monster.

The thing about sharpening while mounted in Rise is that whether it is truly bad or not kind of depends on how they balanced it around other systems. Like... if high level weapons in Rise had (on average) much less white sharpness than weapons in World, then making it easier to sharpen in battle makes sense. The added safety is offset by the increased frequency you need to do it and the cost of not doing so is less damage each "round" of combat.

but in general I don't see how mounted sharpening is a big deal in a game where you can wirebug up to any small elevated surface to sharpen and the monster won't be able to get to you.

I would think hunting horns having a sharpness regen song would be a much bigger deal to hardcore fans if sharpness in general is an issue.

Even in World, it's not like you have to put in a ton more effort to get away from a monster safely to sharpen. You just fire a dung pod or run to another zone if you really want to. Rise's options save a little bit more time, but I don't think it's a significant.

I think in theory, you probably shouldn't be able to sharpen on the mount in combat. But logically that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Like why wouldn't you be able to? I think all the other nice aspects of having a mount heavily outweigh any potential balance issues there are in being able to utilize it in combat to that degree.

Literally no reason to even have weapon durability when you can do that.

I honestly don't see the big deal. Jumping on the Palamute to sharpen in the middle of a fight is a massive benefit, but it also kills the flow of the fight. Even with that option, most of the time I did not sharpen until the monster leaves the zone, like you do in the other games. And in both World and Rise there are many other ways to make sharpening significantly easier to deal with. Skills like Master's Touch, Protective Polish, Razor Sharp, etc. or Whetfish and Great Whetfish scales are all used frequently.

Shadow of War was better than Mordor in most regards, even before they removed the microtransactions (which weren't really that big of a deal). However, I was not fond of the siege defense missions at all, and making the final act of the game a very long series of sieges killed my interest entirely. The game was awesome up until that point.

I almost never remember my dreams. Even seconds after waking up from one, my memory of them almost completely dissipates.

I still remember a couple distinctly from my childhood though, but basically nothing as an adult.

I won't be getting the game till I get a better computer most likely. So hopefully the Epic account thing is removed by then.

Battleblock Theater is also getting some kind of update.

Cherche is my favorite.

Honestly I've watched some Skibidi toilet episodes and it's not that bad. I see why it's really enjoyable for kids. I think the endless series of escalation is what makes it really appealing to that age group. It's almost like when you would play with toys. A lot of episodes boil down to just finally killing a big enemy only for an even bigger enemy to show up immediately after.

Anyway, I can't really see how it would adapted. As funny as this, I just find it highly unlikely.

Rowlet by far

I really enjoyed it, but it is my least favorite Zelda game. I think the Kinstones are a big reason why. Being a GBA game, buttons are limited as is, so dedicating a full button to a mechanic that could have been done just by interacting with NPCs really sours the experience a bit for me. And while I like Minish Cap's version of Hyrule, I don't think it can compare to the settings of the other 2D Zelda Game Boy games. Labrynna, Holodrum, and Koholint are just so much more interesting and special.

Overall though, it's a very good game. And I still think Gyorg Pair is one of my favorite bosses in the entire series to this day.

That one level in Super Mario Sunshine has made me a pachinko hater for life.

I'll take no boss fights over shoving Warden Eternal down our throats throughout the entire campaign. But to be fair, Warden Eternal is a decent enough boss in a vacuum. They just really overdid it with his campaign encounters. And Warzone Firefight's bosses were pretty fun, so despite the Warden Eternal issue, I think Halo 5 did a pretty good job there.

just to clarify, when the streamer I watched played it, the game seemed to work perfectly fine, it wasn't really until the level where you're on a huge land vehicle and you have a jetpack that it started being broken, not loading waypoints properly or at all, glitching through the ground etc., hindering further progress

Yeah I encountered that exact bug when I played through it on Xbox. They either fixed it eventually or I got lucky enough to dodge it when playing through that mission again. MCC campaigns also had a a lot of desync issues back then too. And this was still well after launch.

I've had no issues at all playing any campaign on the PC version though.

I don't think that's something most people do when driving.

Assuming that the customer didn't get it custom painted/wrapped themselves to help protect against the notorious rust issue, maybe they are starting to paint them now to try and deal with... the notorious rust issue.

Yeah my assumption was that it was a custom job, but I don't know a whole lot about the car other than that it looks terrible and seemingly has a ton of issues.

Most of the writing in The Silmarillion is Tolkien's own, it was just pieced together into an actual book by Christopher Tolkien. So I guess you could go either way on that one.
