Think we're going down a poor quality slippery slope here, but yes, assuming there was some reasonable imperative for going door to door. If it's some kind of dick waving power move by a local station to show they have "the power," then no. If there's a murderer hiding somewhere in a neighborhood, sure, even though I don't think police would ever actually operate like that in any realistic scenario. Making it a more realistic situation, if there was some power tripping cop pulling over dozens and dozens of people every hour just to run their IDs for some random reason, then that would be an abuse of power to complain about. For someone who was stopped in a legally sanctioned stop, even if it's a legal gray area, then just fucking comply for three seconds.

So even though it's a grey area, the guy should comply because.. it makes the cop's job easier?

No, the argument in this tweet is that since other countries opened "with no problems", the US should too. Now if Trump meant to say something else, that's on him (as he has in other tweets where he just stated he wanted schools to open)

Just learned that my anti-mask crusading brother tested positive 6 days ago. We live in the same house, and he NEVER told me any of this until today. He has probably spread it to my parents, and possibly my 90-year old grandfather as well. I am livid.

Really sorry to hear that - have your family talked about quarantining him? I'm sure he won't listen but if your parents own the house they could stipulate the rule for him to reside there.

What we have seen so far in the literature and anecdotally, as well is that kids really do seem to be both less likely to catch the infection and less likely to spread the infection. It seems to be even more true for younger kids, under 10 or under 12. And older kids seem to play less of a role than adults.
Here in Colorado, Ive been following our state health department website very closely. They update data every day and include the outbreaks in the state they are investigating. As you can imagine, there are lots and lots in long-term care facilities and skilled nursing homes, some in restaurants and grocery stores. There have been a total of four in child care centers, and we do have a lot of child care centers open. In almost every one of those cases, transmission was between two adults. The kids in the centers are not spreading Covid-19. Im hearing the same thing from other states, as well.

From our perspective as pediatricians, the downsides of having kids at home versus in school are outweighed by the small incremental gain you would get from having kids six feet apart as opposed to five, four or three. When you add into that other mitigation measures like mask wearing, particularly for older kids, and frequent hand washing, you can bring the risk down.

Reopening schools is so important for the kids, but really for the entire community. So much of our world relies on kids being in school and parents being able to work. Trying to work from home with the kids home is disproportionately impacting women. So it goes beyond just the health of the child, which is, of course, very important. As a country, we should be doing everything we can right now, for lots of reasons, to make sure we can safely reopen schools in the fall.

That doesn't support Trump's tweet? (The other countries are opening so we should) It just supports opening in general...

To be clear, I think it's fine (and good) to ask questions - the appearance of "trying to justify it" comes from offering the "maybe he swallowed drugs" explanation

You could have offered other explanations that didn't appear to put him in bad light (i.e. "Did the cop have a history of excessive force with his baton?")

If it makes feel any better, I quit my job because of this. I was a little skeptical about coming back early, and when I went to our meeting right before we opened up, I was left speechless about how little of a shit they gave about our group of table games dealers (and other employees for that matter).

No plexiglass, no temperature checks for players or employees, smoking right off the table, drinks at the table, mask's were required but not enforced so you could get away with whatever, and our capacity didn't change at all. I felt slighted by it, and felt like it wasn't gonna be pretty especially since I felt like the numbers were going to explode soon.

Within the first month 3 employees got Covid, who knows how many patrons, and the city has reshutdown again and the casino is closed for at least a week.

It's odd and I'm not exactly happy, but I'm just trying to clear my mind up (I have some other mental blocks right now, as well) and see what my next step is I guess.

Legend of the Seeker was terrible overall. Heavily changed from the source material, and I don't think Terry Goodkind was really involved all that much, he wasnt even consulted on the scripts.

By contrast, Amazon is working very closely with Robert Jordan's widow, Harriet McDougal as a producer. So overall I have more faith in Wheel of Time as a TV series than I ever did with LotS.

Would you say the LoS series is worth a watch?

1) He was trying to observe birds, which is hard when unleashed dogs like hers are running around the park. Why should he have to accommodate her when she's breaking the rules?

A lynching implies a mob execution. I guess I hold the term mob in a higher regard than 12 rednecks in the woods. And that's even assuming the extreme notion that they were about to murder someone.

This looks exacly the same as countless number fight videos outside of bars to me.
