I finished TLJ again, and I have to say Yoda's scene is probably one of the best in the entire series. Brings back so many emotions.

Outside seeing Yoda again, there's not really much else I liked about the movie. It was long and full of sci-fi cliches done better in other works. It also made the return of the "Empire" even more stupid than it seemed in TFA. I feel like Rey and Finn were wasted with a lot of potential left out.

Edit: I'm actually watching this again right now and holy shit is Del Toro's character cringy as fuck. I really love Del Toro, but that stuttering is so forced.

I don't think that's the reason. The Russos go on record saying she was gonna be in, but decided it she was too metaphysical to introduce a character like that.

It has nothing to do with his motivation or sympathy. That itself is the product of their difficulty trying to introduce such a character.

I also don't see much wrong on the getting laid plot point. It makes him even more psychotic instead of some stupid heroic angle where he is trying to save the Universe.

Bodega means grocery store in Spanish and it mostly originated in the Bronx, which is full of Hispanic people.

It's mostly just an NYC thing, though the immediate areas around there like LI and JC still refer to it as that. But haven't heard it used by people in other cities.

I need to see the UE again. I always catch the theatrical on TV.

I think both were pretty good. Batfleck in general and that warehouse scene really make up for it for me. Just loved the brutality of it (I remember the UE having way more blood).

I also loved the scene where they first meet after the Batmobile chase. The music is exceptional all throughout because it's fucking Hans Zimmer, but that chase lead up and then just bouncing off Supes was extra hyped.

My favorite part in the movie is when Gandalf leaves the shire and goes to Minis Tirith to study the possibility of it being the one ring. Then he rides back to the shire in what looks like maybe a couple weeks/months had passed, but in the book its been 17 years. I think it would be hilarious if in the movie it just faded to black and said 17 years later. The average audience would be like this Wizard was off reading books for almost 2 decades!!

Teal'c totally got fucked by the ending. His sacrifice brought tears to my eyes. That last episode is pretty depressing and is the one thing I remember when I watch TLJ, because of the whole "can't escape even after jumping into hyperspace" thing.

This is my favorite show ever and was my go to for feel good time on SyFy and then Netflix. But then they got rid of it on Netflix and SyFy became a joke and despite having Amazon Prime, I never really hooked up the Fire Stick, and just used the Chromecast, so I couldn't get back on to it. So Friends ended up becoming my go to.

Tbf, it is nerds that are mad, but I find it justified. SW probably has the biggest fandom on Earth. If they are not ok with the direction, they're gonna be vocal as fuck and Disney should pay attention.

Ime, the people I've talked to about this movie are mostly casuals who were somewhat into Star Wars as the experience it is, and really enjoyed TFA, and say that TLJ was trash.

Even some of the bigger sci fi fans were praising TFA and Solo and still hated TLJ and talking about how much better the other movies were.

Outside of like 2-3 guys, I don't know anyone that even bothers with Star Wars. I was going by the consensus of the internet.

I liked TFA because it was the start of the something new. Lots of flaws were ignored because people were just happy to see everyone back and a new saga starting.

TLJ was so bad that TFA just feels pointless now. Not bad, just pointless.

I still have fun watching the prequels. It's like a galactic saga unraveling, mixed with a lot of over the top nonsense, which adds a nice comedic element. Saw the "I don't like sand" bit the other day in AotC and I was dying from laughter.
