| SeabassDebeste 09/18/18 12:26:32 PM #16 | game of thrones has won for seasons 5 and 7, easily two of its worst seasons, though i enjoyed the spectacle still and the field of fire was insane. feels especially incongruous since it didn't win in seasons 1-4, universally considered better. peter dinklage's awards also don't align with when he was doing his best work. stranger things was mediocre in both S1 and S2. It was never high-quality (other than the production values) but it was soapy which can make a lot of things enjoyable in spite of their lacking integrity. LOST was absolutely a game-changer and a lot of that is because it was on network TV, which is where shows really were intended to go into perpetuity, but both fans and showrunners pushed back to get an end date. Sopranos doesn't really belong in this conversation.
