Kubo Tite has been my favorite for a while.

His Bleach artwork was amazing in the beginning and was very stylistic, however the quality took a dip as the series went on. Compare the characters and backgrounds of the first few volumes to the last and the difference is pretty stark (see what I did there?). Apparently the constant strain and overload started to take a toll on Kubo's health in the latter years of Bleach's run.

I guess his new one shot Burn the Witch is a spiritual successor to Bleach with witches instead of shinigami. The setup us cool and character designs are on point as always but I was hoping for more background detail, it looks like late Bleach again.

It doesn't matter if a small percentage of white people owned slaves or not. Not everyone was the LeBron James of racial oppression under the system of slavery, there were a lot of Channing Fryes that still got the ring and benefitted from said system that was set up by the elites. No, I'd prefer people not default to racism in every scenario. It doesn't have to be "everything is racist" or "nothing is racist". It the absence of evidence of racism it is very irresponsible to demonize someone as a racist, especially in today's mob culture.

And it's hard not to say there is a victim narrative being pushed when an armed suspect reaches for a gun, is shot, and there are protests about it anyway just because the suspect was black. If he was white, they wouldn't give a shit.

I also think that not everything should automatically be attributed to racism, HOWEVER, something doesn't have to be an obvious malicious act before it can be considered racist. It does not have to involve violence or racial slurs.

When you have over a centuries worth of concerted efforts to having images that criminalize black people in a way to keep them in check the residual effect is the things you see today, people calling the police on black people doing the most mundane things like sleeping in a student common area. Some of it's unconscious bias, some of it is just plain racism, and some it's simply an irrational fear.

The heat isn't really that bad. It's the humidity in some parts of the state that can make it really uncomfortable because sweat doesn't evaporate.
