If you have after hours access, you would go get your stuff before you officially return to get fired. I wish i did that. But i didn't figure out why they wanted to know my overtime hours a week early and at 7pm.

I think they just learned why you shouldn't travel with a baby, or without health insurance.
Some people think universal health care applies outside the country too. But it doesn't. If he went to Canada for example, he would still be charged (probably $40 to $100).
That's why travel health insurance exists. It's a great investment and you should always have it if your traveling in another country, especially the USA which overcharges on healthcare.

Uh yeah, people have been doing since, I don't know... when were regular people allowed to own guns? Oh right, since 1776. You give people access to weapons, some people are going to unjustly use them for horrible purposes. There isn't a way to avoid gun violence unless the government rounds up every firearm out there and madates that they stop being sold. That's the harsh truth that people don't want to admit. It can't be stopped. You can also start looking at the sociology and psychological reasons for it occuring, but again, you can't stop single parent households in low-income neighborhoods from happening. You can't stop bullying for 12 years from happening. You can't stop a lot of bad things on a nationwide level and that's why I think that this is not a government issue, it's a small community issue. Be nicer to people, be aware of the signs, help your neighbors out and establish a good sense of community and belonging so that people are less likely to feel outcast and are less likely to turn to violence.

Damn, banning guns is actually easier than what you propose.

But it's moot, America will never ban guns, and never become polite, they are doomed. Anyone that cares should just gtfo of the country.
I don't suggest Canada either, they are right behind the US in gun violence. Better off with Germany or something. Or go to Japan, where the gun laws are so damn strict that criminals are scared to have them. Orgs like Yakuza ban them entirely because of how harsh the laws are.

I don't disagree - it sucks that suing the cop is, in essence, the guy suing all his neighbours through their tax dollars - but what other recourse is there? The only other option is making cops personally liable for their on-the-job decision (and perhaps their managers liable for insufficient training) and I'm not sure that's any better.
