I wonder what sort of cultural change could have happened in recent years to make usage of the word "Fuck" so casually accepted? I mean, maybe it was the idea of a presidential candidate getting into a heated debate about his dick size, and the country just being okay with that as part of our political discourse.

Words are just words. Not sure why "fuck" should be considered such a bad word that it shouldn't be used.

I remember sadly reading a post elsewhere where this guy called up the suicide prevention hotline, and he kept cursing--so the woman on the other end told him she'd hang up on him, and she did. Luckily he didn't kill himself, but that seems like a bad thing to do to someone threatening to kill themselves.

A lot of conservatives are totally okay with this because "Hey, he shouldn't have broken the law."

It greatly concerns me that people are so willing to put a death penalty for minor crimes, albeit an indirect one. I wonder why (Not really--it's obvious why) the same extension isn't made toward white-collar criminals. I mean they do they crime too. So they too should face near-certain death.

Dems need several people in their primary this time. Not just 2 people (and Licoln Chaffee). Oh yeah, I guess Martin O'Malley ran too or something.

Also they need to get rid of the Superdelegates. If you want to prevent someone like Trump from getting the nomination, then require an endorsement from an elected member of the Democratic Party to get on the ticket or something.

You're giving him way too much credit. It was the British who burned down the white house, not the Canadians. I suppose he might deserve a point for knowing it had to do with Canada.

Also if we're being honest, he probably thought it happened in 2012. (I almost said 14, but then realized Trump probably thinks the War of 1812 would only take place in 1812)

So apparently someone swatted David Hogg's home.

I feel like swatting needs to carry stiffer punishments. Like 5-10 years in prison. More if someone dies as a result (20-life if someone dies).

Then again, there's so much wrong with our justice system. Rape a girl? 3 months in prison! Kill a transgender person? Probation! Run over 4 people, killing them all in a drunk driving accident, then ESCAPE from rehab and go on the lam to Mexico? 2 years in prison. (Rehab before that, though!) Molest a 5 year old girl? 5 years probation. Have a little too much weed on you? 20 years in prison. Swat someone... and cause their death..

If you want something where it's possible the swing voter outright disagrees -- Police stories in general I think are an excellent example of this. Many many super liberals will basically take the side of the perp by default, even when there isn't a lot of information yet. It's just not a good look, particularly for people who have had better experience with police than random people on the street.

As opposed to immediately taking the police's side like conservatives do? And many conservatives will continue defending police's actions even AFTER information comes out that it was in the wrong. (Also your use of the word 'perp' here is definitely telling. Was Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old boy a perp? What about Philando Castille? What makes him a perp?

Conservatives are forgiven a lot more easily for their bullshit than liberals are by swing voters. They can vote for pedophiles like Roy Moore, Anti-Gay lunatics like Mike Pence, but because someone didn't take the side of the police in a shooting (or because some people don't think police have the right to carry out the death penalty for any number of crimes) they can't vote Democrat?

You're the one who brought race into it to start with. You don't seem to understand why someone would be upset by something, so you don't think they have a right to be upset. But YOU get to be upset over what makes you upset and you don't see why other people have a problem with this.

It's the double standard and is 100% privilege. (Note that I didn't say WHITE Privilege. This is Conservative Privilege, where they get to be upset about things like taking God out of schools, kneeling for the anthem, but other people can't be upset about things that matter to them for similar reasons)

If it's Obama he should be destroyed, and commentators can say what he want because then it's actually objectively stupid.

Maybe someone can explain to me why Daren Hobson is being tried with Terrorism.

Now, I won't jump to conclusions. Maybe the gun he had wasn't fake, but real (despite reports saying it was fake). Maybe there was a political bent behind it (but nobody's said what that is yet, if anything at all). But at present, I just don't see why he's being charged with terrorism instead of say.. public endangerment or even aggravated assault.

Maybe Nevada state law defines terrorism differently -- it appears to do so. But if that's the case, then Stephen Paddock should have also been classified as a terrorist. But he wasn't.
