Luke had far more than "ten minutes of training" before his first lightsaber duel (hint - that was at Cloud City). And the first lightsaber duel we see Anakin have was also at the end of the second movie his character was in.

Rey had never wielded a lightsaber IN HER LIFE before she pwned Ben.

In Anakin's first movie, he wins a high speed death race and then blows up a capital ship accidentally that turns the tide in the war against the trade federation because he's literally Force Christ.

Luke is appointed leader of Rogue Squadron, the rebel's top fighter pilots, despite the fact that he has never flown before and never left Tattooine, where he blows up the Death Star by guiding a torpedo 80km through a vent into the core with the force (despite the fact that this was before he could even lift up rocks).

At least in Rey's case, she has some justifications. First, she actually was shown to have martial arts experience right off the bat with her bo staff and given that she was a survivalist on Jakku. Second, her fight against Kylo Ren was after Kylo tanked an explosive plasma bolt to the torso, and Kylo was specifically instructed not to kill her (and was aggravating his wound by punching it because he was throwing a tantrum).

I'm not saying she's a good character, but she is absolutely no worse than Luke or Anakin. Especially Anakin.

That's called moving the goal posts. The criticisms against Rey also work against Luke. They also are arguably even more applicable to Anakin.

Luke and Anakin actually learned to wield a lightsaber before their first duel, so no, they don't.

Oh, and they both LOST duels against masters of the art. When has Rey lost at literally anything, despite having literally no training in the Force whatsoever?

Luke had about ten minutes training from a geriatric jedi and Anakin literally blew up an entire capital ship, outclassing the entire space force of Naboo, mostly by accident, despite the fact that he was 12 and had never left Tattooine before.

Conner was the worst main character, IMO.

Wesley > Angel > Cordelia > Doyle > Spike > Fred Gunn > Lorne > Conner

How could you put Lorne so far below Doyle? Doyle was cool and all, but got zero development. Lorne had a cool background story and actually reacted pretty realistically to most of the situations, like in the finale.

I was gonna say that She was a worse episode than anything from Buffy... but then I remembered just how bad Buffy S7 was.

Yeah, they both have shit episodes, I'm just saying in general, Buffy had some really, really dumb story arcs (The Trio were the worst villains in either series), whereas Angel just had some dumb episodes (though I remember not caring for the Jasmine arc). Also, I have to watch it again, but I didn't mind the last season. It at least ended in a way that was pretty fitting for the show. The season with the trio was the worst I remember. It's like they took one of the B-story comedy plots and stretched it out to an entire season. Like, "You've seen her face off against demons, homicidal vampires, immortal warlocks, vampire kings and ancient evils, but how will Buffy deal with three misogynistic nerds!?!?".

Well I am pretty sure Snyder has no hand in Aquaman so it could be a decent film like Wonder Woman.

DC has a long road ahead of them though if they want to bring in that MCU money and fan love.

Superman and Batman are fucked but they have something with Wonder Woman, and maybe Aquaman if they do it right.

The problem is that they will never center the universe on those characters. It's pretty easy to argue that they should, but they will devoutly keep preaching the gospel of Superman and Batman and keep trying to hook everything to those heroes, whether it is working or not.

In that way, comics have had the advantage because the format allows them to move characters around a lot more and shift the focus to new characters over time, but these movies might as well be called "Superman, Batman and Friends".

Because even a very profitable industry of genocide is still morally repugnant.

Clickbait. Comics rebrand themselves every decade or so just so they can retell the same stories with slight tweaks and setting updates.

If you don't mind them coming back, feel free to feed them. It's hard to tell who is a stray, though, because house cats and wild cats pretty much act the same. Probably not a great idea to take them in, though, unless they are sick or weak or seem to want to.

Honestly, I'm fine with the religion thing. The first thing I always say is, "I'm glad it fulfills you, but it's just not for me because I don't agree with all the ideas" as politely as possible. He usually keeps it up telling me how it's not faith, but fact (which undermines his argument, if anything, but whatever). The racism and made up history thing is harder to ignore, though.

In addition, digital games don't need the same sort of art.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, though. Older games could sell based on boxart despite being horrible, and not having to worry about that frees up some more money for development.

It's great. People shit on it because that's the cool thing to do, but for every thing that was done poorly, they made two other things 100% better. Honestly, I don't think I could go back to the older ones anymore. 4 had it's flaws, but it was definitely a step in the right direction.
