I wouldn't say it's conservatives, but it's pretty fucking stupid none-the-less. I can't believe people openly believe this shit. It all boils down to the fact that they are lazy, unmotivated losers with persecution complexes who want to pat themselves on the back for finding the hole in the imaginary enemy's perfect, century-long plan. Then they can walk around insulting others and feeling special because they figured it out and all those people who actually had passions or dreams or were motivated enough to achieve something in life were too stupid to see what they saw.

I wouldn't say it's a cultural milestone. But it is an important movie. It's important because it has exposed the racism and dishonesty of the left.

And you were so close too!

What I said is completely correct.

Black Panther has received very good reviews and made a ton of money. It shows that Marvel/Disney can take existing and underutilized black characters and make a compelling movie that will bring people into the theaters.

So, you'd think the left would want other black superheroes to receive the same treatment. Or ask them to create new black characters. But not really...

https://www.theringer.com/movies/2018/2/20/17032508/daniel-kaluuya-next-james-bond

What they've done instead is gone back to their old routine of saying "Let's take existing white characters and make them black!"

It shows that left is lying. They claim that all they want is to see more black characters in movies. But what they really want is to get rid of white characters. No matter how successful Black Panther is and no matter how successful other movies about black superheroes will be in the future, it just absolutely kills the left there are popular white characters like James Bond and they want to end that. The left doesn't a have a pro-black or pro-diversity agenda, they have an anti-white agenda.

Where is James Bond from? What country, specifically?

So several people clearly state how they feel about it, proving you are wrong, and you just ignore them in favor of people who are mocking your views? You obviously don't want to have an actual discussion. You are just interested in picking at easy targets so you can justify how you feel and how the 'other side' is victimizing you.

I don't want them banned. I want weapons to be evaluated on their purpose and use and ones that have no practical application for self-defense or recreation like hunting should be severely restricted.

Worth noting that this is basically what we Canadians do, and it works fairly well.

Not in that context. In my mind, that means sticking to your genetic family no matter what. I have some really, really shitty family members who I wouldn't waste my time with for a minute. I also have some non-related people in my life that I'd do anything for. I believe in loyalty to those that earn it and general compassion for all humanity whenever possible, but I think that I will always prioritize people in my life that I choose to be close to, and not the ones that are 'close' simply by the accident of birth.

- Marvel movie, so guaranteed a large audience
- Marvel Studios movie, so guaranteed to be good
- Primarily black cast
- Black director
- Black producer
- Black writers
- Black costume designer
- Black production designer
- And a modern film, so it had the internet to help boost it's profile in the public eye

In addition, from what I understand, it doesn't rely on black caricatures or stereotypes to sell its story.

Okay, but you are still ignoring my main question. You state that the reason for your particular faith is because of the Bible account, but then you say that you it's okay to ignore parts of the Bible.

The Bible is pretty clear several times that it's not to be divided or changed, but then you say that part isn't important, because even though the Bible explains that you are not supposed to ignore it, you ignore that part of it.

More importantly, I'm not asking for the importance of Jesus, I'm asking where your specific faith comes from if not the Bible. You state that Jesus is an important historical figure (no one is questioning this) and that multiple other figures put an importance on him (that's not entirely true, it's just the Abrahamic faiths, and even then, the degree of his importance varies from 'interesting guy' to 'savior').

The entirety of the messianic covenant is contained in the Bible. All of Jesus' sayings that you follow (I assume) are in the Bible. And as far as Jesus' story is the most repeated story, I don't know about that. The end of the world comes up a lot. The messianic covenant covers pretty much the entirety of the Old Testament.

What I'm curious is if these supporters would volunteer for a little test scenario. Get them and eight other people. Give the eight other people guns privately and tell them that they need to kill the 'bad guy'. Then lock them all in the room and tell them that they are about to be gunned down.

Would anyone be stupid enough to go into that scenario? Obviously, it's an extreme example, but guns require training just like cars or any other potential life-threatening piece of equipment. As it stands, the US does not regulate guns enough, not only in ensuring training but also in what sorts of weapons can be sold. Most people would take umbrage with me stockpiling tanks and cruise missiles, especially if they didn't agree with my politics, and yet, their carte blanche methodology for arms ownership should include those arms as well.

It's just a poor solution. Obviously, the government has been leaning more that way than the other and it's not paid off. Maybe people need to start thinking of a new solution instead of dismissing these now annual events as isolated incidents.

Hey guys theres an active shooter roaming the building, so Im gonna talk loudly and interview people while hiding. Sounds like a good idea right?

Literally the rights line of thinking.

Uhh. What the right wants is for people to be able to say "Holy shit there's an active shooter in the building, let me draw the legal firearm that I have spent dozens of hours training to operate, and let me find the active shooter and kill them."

Law abiding gun owners kill the mass shooter. Why do gun grabbers want to see more dead kids??

We can't even always trust police officers to stay calm and discharge their firearm properly, but we're supposed to trust a bunch of armed civilians to stay calm, identify the correct target, and play hero? A police officer fucks up and the argument is "They're only humans. This ain't the movies." But civilians? They're motherfucking John Wick.

This is what it boils down to. I don't believe owning or carrying a firearm requires you to spend 'dozens of hours training' to own. As well, nearly every incident with armed civilians ended up making the situation more difficult. If you already don't trust random people on the street to make good logical decisions, what do you think is going to happen if you hand them a gun and tell them to shoot the bad guy?

Darkest Dungeons is basically Lovecraft moved back to the late medieval/early renaissance period. It's an amazing game and totally nails what you are describing.

Hmm, it's 90% off on GOG. Should I get it? What's the gameplay like?

It's a side-scrolling dungeon-crawl rouge-like RPGs. That doesn't really do it justice, though. You play a guy who inherits his corrupted ancestor's manor and finds that it is over-run with eldritch abominations. You have to hire a team of adventurers and train them up to confront all the monsters underneath the manor. The twist is that your adventurers actually suffer from stress and madness if they are in the dungeons too long. Darkness causes them to stress. Facing the undead stresses them out. So you have to balance stress management and resources and your heroes to survive.

Edit: I forgot to say, yes you should buy it. It is, without a doubt, one of the best indie games of the last few years. The art style is amazing and seriously reminds me of Mike Mignola's work on Hellboy.

Thanks. I just might check it out. Just started Etrian Odyssey, my first dungeon crawler a month ago and I'm eager to see what else the genre could give. Is the game finished though? Last I heard about it, in 2015ish it was still unfinished and being patched like crazy.

Yeah it's finished. It actually has a full expansion, a DLC character, and another expansion on the way. The current expansion introduces vampirism and I think the next one is introducing some sort of cosmic, extraterrestrial threat IIRC.

Fuck, I waited too long and it's back at full price lmao. Oh well, I still have a massive backlog so it's not too bad. But this'll definitely be at the top of my to play list later and if gets back on sale in the near future I'll skip a bunch of my backlog to play it.

Because the history of white people in entertainment and the history of black people in entertainment are so radically different. I'm not sure why it's hard to understand. You can talk about equality until you are blue in the face, but if someone has to live with hundreds of years of a completely different situation for their people, it's not like we can just pretend it never happened overnight.

Also, I don't know which Esmerelda you are referring to, but there is nothing about James Bond that means that he has to be white. If he was any other race he could be the exact same character.
