I think they could still course-correct if they really tried. But they need to take their time, stop trying to be edgy, and hire directors that respect the source and know what theyre doing.

Shazam is a good start. no edginess in the trailer. it's basically a comedy

I agree. It doesn't look super amazing, but it looks fun and doesn't have any sort of edgy vibe at all.

It's because they keep hiring fucking Zack Snyder for their films, like get competent directors you dumb fucks at WB.

Yea I liked the Shazam trailer more than I thought I would. Definitely gonna go see it. Aquaman looks... okay. Will probably still see it tho lol.

DC has a long road ahead of them though if they want to bring in that MCU money and fan love.

Superman and Batman are fucked but they have something with Wonder Woman, and maybe Aquaman if they do it right.

The problem is that they will never center the universe on those characters. It's pretty easy to argue that they should, but they will devoutly keep preaching the gospel of Superman and Batman and keep trying to hook everything to those heroes, whether it is working or not.

In that way, comics have had the advantage because the format allows them to move characters around a lot more and shift the focus to new characters over time, but these movies might as well be called "Superman, Batman and Friends".
