Serious reply: It means different things to different people. In my case it means I think organized religion is 100% bullshit but I still believe in a Creator. I also thing that the Creator is utterly beyond our ability to comprehend, and trying to force it into our image (like many religions do) is pretty much the height of hubris.

I honestly have no issue if they choose to have a new Black Female lead for BtVS. As long as they continue the lore / canon already established by Angel / BtVS.

It's already setup so that almost any female can be a Slayer.

And the new Generation can have a new young Female Lead.

This has been out for awhile now, and there was already a couple topics on it, IIRC.

Anyway, I'm going to reign in my expectations like I did the first time round, but it'll probably be worth diving back into. The base game was good, but lacking content. It felt rushed. I still got a decent amount of time out of it, though, so I got my money's worth. I always felt it was one of those game that was going to benefit from prolonged development.

I think it followed the same sort of thing as Minecraft; it's barebones on launch, but becomes better and better the more options the players are given and the more content that is added. The problem is, we've been jaded to that and a lot of people were expecting Minecraft at the end of it's development and not the beginning.

A complete and utter misunderstanding of things like race, religion, and politics that leads one to believe that the world is conspiring against them and giving them a willingness to sacrifice pretty much anything just to try and punish 'the enemy'.

That's kind of his point, they have so much more in common why bother. Religion tends to do that. A better example would be the Christianity miaphysitism/diyophysitism.

Because it's generally not the everyday guy that is taking advantage of these differences. The people starting the wars aren't generally the everyday people, but they are using these sorts of minor differences to so discord and expand their powerbase.

Or, you know, we could take what works from both systems and not zealously devote ourselves to a single, dogmatic, non-adaptive philosophy.

It doesn't matter if they are true or false, as long as people believe in them they are important to study and understand. Whether you believe in them or not does not effect whether a faction half way across the world will or will not slaughter a few thousand people in the name of their interpretation.

Buddhism is just as theistic, and actually has some pretty nasty beliefs in it, as well, so I'm not sure why you'd pretend it's completely different. Not that it's 'wrong' or anything like that, but it's not exactly blameless.

Philosophically? It's what successor's teachings should be held as doctrine.

Practically? It's a dispute between two factions with slightly different interpretations of an ancient doctrine, which has the potential to shift the power structure between said factions.

That being said, it's really no different than Christianity, so it shouldn't see too foreign. In fact, it almost perfectly mirrors the schism between Orthodox and Catholic Christians, who disputed Paul's successor(s) (with the former seeing it as an even split between the five Patriarchs, and the latter thinking that the Pope in Rome should rule over the others) and as far as I can understand, Shia and Sunni have a lot more in common than Catholicism and Protestantism.

Probably won't be long, considering he's one or two gaffes away from accidentally starting WW3 trying to do a line of blow off a nuclear launch panel.

I don't care about Buffy being whitewashed, but to be fair, GitS was a Japanese creation whereas Buffy wasn't a 'white' creation. It was American, and American includes both white and black people.

Really, though, I wish they'd just continue the story and make her a new slayer, since the world has so much more to explore and we really don't need to rehash out the same story for no reason. Not only that, but I'm sure plenty of the original actors would show up for cameos, especially since they've all been set up as such important parts of the setting.

It depends. Some come with cool extras that people like to display and stuff like that. I got the DS3 special edition and now I have a cool red knight sculpture sitting in my living room. It ended up being my least favorite of the series, but the statue is cool anyway.

Cool redesign, not sure that constitutes a game in itself, but cool looking none-the-less.

He is the least fit actor to play a Viking I've seen in a long time. It honestly annoys me that it's like the perfect set up for a show for me, but one actor ruins it.

That's all I watched. Travis Fimmel was unbearable, but it was otherwise okay. There was some sloppy writing in parts, too ("Oh, my brother betrayed me! Guess I'll forgive him! Oh, there he is with a knife heading for my back again! What a rascal") and the dialogue came off ridiculously modern for a show so stepped in mythology and the sagas. Like I said, though, I'd probably love it if not for the lead in the early seasons.

I really can't afford to shop anywhere else, most of the time. Unfortunately, money is a factor when purchasing for most of us. If people really want things to change, not shopping there is not really going to affect their bottom line. The key to changing shitty corporate practices is to attack them at a governmental level, not from a shopper.

Nothing to exciting. Moved across the country to a place I knew no one and had no job or anything lined up. That's about it. I'm a pretty mundane guy.

Dr. Who (and British TV in general) is really fucking weird about how the schedule and hype TV. They do things way in advance, have shorter 'series', and have arbitrary gaps between seasons. As far as I know, it's always been like that.

There are a lot of Korean movies on Amazon Prime as well.

There is actually an entire section for Indian cinema on Amazon Prime, which seems weird because there isn't any sections for other countries, but I guess the audience must be there and I'm not going to complain about having more international content any time soon.
