first is definitely

phantasy star 3 - of all the games I enjoy playing quite a bit, I'd say this one suffers the most from being severely dated. it's the only one I'd say that I find the graphics and design of the game to be a huge negative drain on the experience. remaking it into a more easily accessible form would be great, plus you could add a lot of story elements into places that were lacking in the original release due to limited cartridge space.

in no particular order after that...

dr mario - there are a lot of classic games which have this amazing playability to them and it feels as if games like this aren't exactly made anymore, or not made the same way. the closest thing are like really cheap mobile games and things that clearly have little effort put into them... usually fueled by micro transactions and feeling like mini games more than real games. dr mario doesn't have a ton of depth to it so it'd probably have to be a portable, but it's a very fun puzzle game that I think a modern release would be enjoyable.

fallout 1 and 2 - great games that would probably benefit a lot from a graphical overhaul. maybe change the design and structure of the games as well but not too much. the tactical gameplay is actually great and I wouldn't want them to just turn it into a shooter with VATS like the modern games. if they could somehow keep the combat and gameplay working the same while sort of making the controls and action more convenient and quick, and improving the graphics, this would be a great re-release.

at this point there are a lot of things that would be kinda neat to see but nothing that solidly claims the fifth place slot. I think any of the SNES fire emblem games or even FE6 would be a good call. they've been slowly working their way through remaking the early FE games so we may see it happen at some point.

demon's souls is about a million times easier than bloodborne

and ulti is correct, just hold down L1. your shield pretty much can solo most of the game for you.

when the gamefaqs > gamspot domain change happened, the bump bots went down for like a day and that was enough time for some topics to purge. specifically, ones that weren't getting any posts aside from the bump bot posts.

I know because one of my own topics purged, although I wasn't really using it so it wasn't a huge deal for me.

if that doesn't count hearthstone subreddit is the worst for sure. dark souls fans would be down there among the worst. the fanbase has become less tolerable with each installment in the series (DeS was fine mostly because nobody knew about the games). I will say I exclude Bloodborne from that. Bloodborne fanbase is awesome. although I'm sure there is some big overlap between people who like the games, the people who actively participate in the fandom are different.

yeah the death of aim killed my socialization with most of board 8. I'm on discord but aside from a few people on my private server I don't chat with anyone too much. Lydia's first album is great (that's the one I would've rec'd you) but everything after that has been pretty mediocre.

dey gotta surfer is probably one of the funniest things I've seen come out of board 8

we actually used to chat every so often, a while back. there's a pretty decent number of users here who I used to get along with better and don't interact with very much anymore. I could go into some reasons why but then this write-up would become more about me than it is about extha. he has attempted to troll me at different points in the past but I'm not the kind of person who is really phased by trolling so I don't harbor any negative feelings about that.

I used to think of him as someone who didn't have much interesting stuff to say but he has recently made some more interesting posts. roughly over the last 1 or 2 years. he was definitely more clueless in the past but I think he's become a bit more self aware as he matured. I don't think this is 100% a case of him always trolling previously and him trolling less now. I think there's definitely been times in the past where he would do things that agitated people without meaning to.

this place is like an ego farm and so although I sound a bit like a broken record this is something I'm going to say a lot if I'm talking about board 8 users; his ego is absolutely his worst quality. to go back to the agitation remark, extha is the type where if he agitates someone he would often place the blame on that person for getting upset rather than thinking about what he did or said that might upset others. a big part of the reason why he remained more on the clueless side, since self reflection is absolutely essential for self improvement.

anyway overall I'd say extha is a bit of a mixed bag. he's certainly flawed, but every person has flaws. I wouldn't say I dislike him or anything like that. most of the negative comments that I made about him are things that refer more to the past or things that have improved about him over time. he hasn't said or done anything that has given me a feeling of dislike, not anytime recently that I remember. he's shown self improvement and more self awareness. he has at times produced funny content or made funny posts. probably solidly somewhere between a good user (a 6/10) and a great user (an 8/10), so 7/10 I guess. 'pretty good.'

voice acting and dialogue sound pretty awkward. plenty of DC animated films are actually really good so it's not like there is a low standard here. this is a noticeable flaw.

the trailer doesn't really show more than 1 second at a time of anything that involves animation, and none of the clips look particularly clean or impressive. the art style is kinda cool but this makes me feel like it doesn't look that good in motion and the trailer is intentionally using quick cuts and mostly standing still, or slow moving shots to hide that from us.

the music sounds awesome, reminds me of FFT.

he can be kinda funny sometimes but he's nowhere near as funny as he thinks he is. he has occasionally made worthwhile and interesting posts but often times his demeanor is so bad that interacting with him is wholly unpleasant.

he mostly interacts with pretty dumb people which leads him to believe that he is very smart. truthfully, he's just like most people; he's got a lot of specialized knowledge about a few very specific things and his narrow focus in life has led him to believe that the things he knows are the most important things to know and therefore he is very smart in all the ways that matter. a predictable pattern of behavior mistaken for intelligence. he really may be the smartest person out of the select group of board 8 users who spend a lot of time arguing, but I can assure you they are a very dumb bunch as a whole. you could be at the top of the pack and still below average.

his ego is absolutely his worst attribute and he has developed an unhealthy system of engaging in disagreements that allows him to always run away from a debate while feeling like he won; exacerbating the issue even further as time passes.

I would say he's more tolerable now than he's been in the past but, then again, we've probably all matured a little bit here and there. well, actually, there's a few users who haven't really matured at all past middle school lines of thinking but I guess we'll save that for their own topics if those come up. I'll give credit where credit is due in this case... foolmo is definitely a step above those guys I'm thinking of.

went to see a movie, I don't remember which one. I wouldn't recommend it. there's basically no chance to really talk or do anything other than watch a movie the same way you'd watch it by yourself, but there's another person sitting next to you. the only reason it kinda worked out is that this girl was mildly obsessed with me at the time so she bugged me to take her out again after that.

So this is an interesting perspective to me. Obviously I'm not knocking these beliefs -- people can believe whatever they want. But I'm surprised that people would still identify as Christian even though they think most of the Bible is false. (I was going to say "you" but I just realized I'm not sure if you personally are in this camp.)

one reason I could see is for social and communal reasons. for example you know that jesus isn't actually a wizard who could create bread and fish out of thin air, but that part doesn't really matter. they're more interested in the 'do good to others' part and find the church as a convenient way to meet an already gathered group of fairly like-minded individuals.

patches basically single handedly killed hunter because it made every class able to put in an aggro package that was cheaper and faster than what hunter does.
