Peaf, if you liked the ideas and themes behind The Last of Us, you'll enjoy this movie a lot. There's genuinely unsettling parts in this movie though, so I'll give it that.

Hey that's like how I felt with The Witch. Felt like it hyped me up for a crazy horror movie, and what I got was a really cool movie that I wouldn't really deem as horror. Or at least the horror I thought it was gonna be.

It's funny because it's produced by the same people and the hype around it is "It's this year's The Witch!" which I don't necessarily agree with entirely.

What's really cool in this movie is that you feel uncomfortable for the whole god damn thing (like The Witch), but it's more of a drama with two families trying to co-exist in a world where there's some kind of plague out there. It does a lot of great psychological things and you can probably talk about the subtle details of this movie for hours, because it is crafted so well.

But it is not a horror movie.

Watch this trailer.



And I know exactly what you'll think. And I promise you, it's not a horror movie.

I think it's because they marketed Wonder Woman to non-super hero audience because they knew people would see it anyway, had a lot of faith in it, and knew word of mouth would get any unsure comic fans to see it. The people they needed to sell on this weren't the hardcore like all of us. It was the casual audience.

See, Vulture is actually an awesome concept and idea for a villain. You can do a lot with that. Unfortunately, his original incarnation sucks and doesn't have a lot of personality or depth beyond just committing crimes.

Michael Keaton's version seems great though because he actually has charisma and a purpose. That's cool and I totally dig a more tech-y Vulture instead of the typical look.

Every time I'm with my buddies and we see a Mummy trailer, we say to each other "I miss Brenden Frasier." I don't know why they would betray what the originals were like, which were great movies. If you want to make a "Horrorverse" they probably would have been better off starting with a different movie, like Creature from the Black Lagoon, except just call it The Creature and make it an actually quality film. Kickstart it with a surprise that nobody expects.

I don't think Bendis is all that bad, honestly. Ultimate Spider-Man has some really, really good stuff in it. And I loved Dark Avengers as well. I even enjoy a lot of his Daredevil run too.

But his problem is that sometimes he just has these ideas... and they're really, really bad ideas. Such as his X-Men runs where he just doesn't understand these characters or how to have an interesting team dynamic. Or his Avengers run where he just threw any shitty story he could come up with at them. Or his Guardians of the Galaxy run where he said "Fuck everything about these characters. We're in BENDISVERSE NOW!" and just (blam) murdered any characterization these characters had and replaced them with totally shallow personalities. And his bizarre hangups with characters (such as Kitty being the most amazing Jewish person ever who needs to make sure you know she's Jewish, Cyclops being scum of the earth, refusing to allow any respect to be shown to Hank Pym, etc.).

He's really, really strange in that he can totally make fun stories or he just totally flubs up everything in the universe. And of course, his dialogue is forever terrible to the point where he actually has a piece of writing named after him with "Bendis Speak".

I dunno, he does good but it's so hard to really respect him with how much stupid shit he's done.

I thought they did an excellent job with Killer Croc in the New 52 Batwoman book. Hell, New 52 Croc is actually really solid to me. There's something about Croc being inspired with power to be a god, then actually getting a following of homeless people to do his bidding because they consider him a god that's pretty cool. And I do like that Croc has the capacity to be straight up feral and that he's always a threat when he wants to be.

But if that doesn't work for people I guess you can give him bling and make him ghetto.

So Dave Meltzer was talking about an ESPN article that found the median of every sports viewer separated by each sport. Apparently every sport has a drastic increase in age for fans and professional wrestling has the largest increase.

ESPN clocked that number in at 54 years old, but he thinks that may be skewed a bit high and that it's probably 50. But he said the WWE is probably the lowest age though out of TNA and Lucha Underground though. And supposedly WWE wasn't happy with the ESPN article.

If anything, I would think that WWE would skew better than other sports since it's more entertainment and there would be more kids into it.

Damien Sandow was excellent in his general role and the Intellectual Savior. And the Intellectual Savior role had so much more mileage to it so I have no idea why they got rid of it.

Sandow constantly put on awesome matches in FCW also. Like, on a show with a lot of really bad guys, he was always the standout in terms of mic work and ring work. He's really smart when it comes to performing in the ring, and he was so good that they paired up Titus O'Neil with him and turned him from a complete travesty in NXT Season 2 to being serviceable in record time.

Sandow always had a ton to offer and even though he didn't light the world on fire in TNA, anyone could see he had a ton of underutilized talent.

I don't disagree with that, but I definitely think there's enough people that have been totally screwed by booking and such after a Cena program that's out of their control. I'd say there's enough people who got a raw deal that putting everyone under a blanket of "They stop caring after they face me" isn't that fair.

I don't necessarily think Cena buries people so much as people get buried by Cena's booking though.

Well, Lana was initially brought in to wrestle. And from the one episode of Total Divas I watched with her in it and from her Talk is Jericho interview, it seems like she's just bright eyed and optimistic and very aggressive in trying to sell her ideas and determined to become a bigger star that she thinks she can be as a wrestler instead of Rusev's wife.

So I guess it's a combination of Lana going "Can I wrestle? Can I wrestle? How about now?" and her being able to convince them she can be a much bigger star as a wrestler.

I mean, I'm legitimately nervous about her being in a Money in the Bank Match, and it just automatically brings down the excitement for me, because they have to try to pigeonhole a spot there for her when we already have two lesser performers in Carmella and Tamina to try to fit something in for where they won't kill someone. But adding in Lana, who has only been in one match two years ago, into this match makes it seem a lot less special.

I would think such a high functioning adult like you would understand people not liking the direction of something and having a feeling they will not like it.

I imagine TimJab has never seen the trailer for a movie and gone "This looks good" or "This looks bad" or has gone out of his way to say to people "NO, you haven't seen it! You can't say you think it looks good or bad until you've seen the whole movie!"

It's like damn dude, it's been over 24 hours and you're still acting like a child over some people saying they think something won't turn out well. You even created a topic with a title reflecting that, because you are that infantile that you are absolutely incapable of letting go of such an absolute non-issue thing of people discussing freaking wrestling storylines.

So here's what you can do Tim. You can still keep trying to act like a big mature guy by being incapable of letting something go that absolutely nobody really cares about and don't even give a shit about humoring you over because, let's be frank, your opinion is and always has meant next to nothing to the people on these boards. Or you can keep enjoying what you enjoy and let other people not enjoy what they don't want to enjoy and kindly get over yourself. I don't get the "Joe/Lesnar is only good if Joe wins" sentiment

My thing is that if Lesnar wins, we're back to more absentee boring champion stuff that we dealt with not only since Wrestlemania, but also Lesnar's entire last run as champion. Joe winning forces it to be something interesting.

I just have no interest in more of the champion just popping in and out a couple months at a time. Like, the match will be great, but only if they let Joe have any time. But if they don't, it's going to be the same match we've seen so many times.

But chances are that Lesnar is going to win. Then in another couple months, Lesnar will face Rollins with the same boring run. And in another couple months, Lesnar will face Finn with the same boring run. And eventually we'll get to Wrestlemania where Lesnar loses to Roman. It's just predictable and boring to me, and Joe winning breaks that trend and allows them to go somewhere creative instead of the same stagnant direction they've been going.

So uh, that Gotham finale man.

Okay, so people dying left and right made me super sad. But they wrapped every single story so well, I love it. Kinda seemed like the whole Tetch poison hitting the city thing was such an afterthought though when it was cured. However, I thought they did a great job.

But what they absolutely need to do now is a time skip. They've put a complete end to each story. How do you even just pick up with anything interesting after this? Just get new actors for the kids (as good of a job as they all do) and just skip five or so years later. Then everything is fresh and new! We get all the characters established in a new position again, and we can go plenty of directions.

PS - BUTCH AS SOLOMON GRUNDY THE HYPEST!!!!!!
