I disagree that they couldn't think of an ending. This entire movie clearly built up to the ending we got, and I'd say what we got was their full intent. It's difficult to discuss why, really, without spoiling it a bit, and I'd rather not spoil anyone. But I would definitely say I felt the opposite about that.

Sonic Slicer works like a boomerang. It goes so far (I think depending on LP or HP) and then swings back. Probably works pretty well if you shoot it and hit a combo.

As far as I can tell, universal launcher is D+HP.

But yeah, I do have similar complaints about the system. I feel like meter will build better in actual play. I could never get enough to check out 3 Hyper Meter moves. Down Down motions also kind of screw me up a bit. I'd prefer DP motions, frankly, but I can kind of understand why they're changing it to Down Down for simplicity sake. I feel like it's something that won't be bad once we get used to it.

But with 90% of the cast being recycled, I'm okay with it. They need to do this because it's cheap. But they all have more moves and feel a bit different, enough that I'm not going to pitch a fit over it.

I enjoyed it for what it was. It feels a bit weird to go back to the MvC2 control scheme. I liked what little I played of it though, but there's nothing you can do that's substantial in the way of playing it and learning characters since the fights are short and it's the same storymode battles.

But all of the videos of the basics video that Combofiend made and other combo videos popping up here and there gives me high hopes! Feels like a really solid game at the very least.

Two new Metroid games announced, one with actual gameplay (and chances are has been in the works since before AM2R was released). So much for the previous two Metroid games killing the franchise, lol. Never trust a doomsayer.

I know they were working on it a lot during the release of AM2R. It's way too polished right now and is coming out in September (I think I heard that?).

I feel this way too, yet I can't say this was a "great" movie either. I am not really sure what is the mark of a great film; I mean if it's to leave you with unanswered questions and wonder... is that all that hard to accomplish? Does it take a screenwriting master to come up with a question that has no answer? Or several of them? I just don't know. This is why I feel a big disconnect is happening with film these days.

See, I came out of it in a similar way. I'm going to keep it vague, but I think the true mastery of the film is not just how much there's unanswered questions, but that each question has a convincing answer to either side. Like, if you bring up one side of a question, I could tell you the other side. I think if it were just uninteresting open questions, that's one thing. But he went out of his way to keep you as in the dark as every single character in the movie, and you are just uncomfortable the entire time as a result because these characters are forced to make decisions and you're just not sure at all if it's even the right one, just like all of them. I came out of it a bit disappointed, but then I kept thinking about it and I'm just like... Damn. That's a well-crafted movie.

I think horror has a lot to do with certain thematic elements; It Comes at Night definitely has horror elements. The real difference is it's a horror that has no intent on being 'scary.' Which sounds odd, but a lot of classic horrors are the same. You could say it's a drama, but most horrors are simultaneously dramas (unless they're horror comedies).

To me, it never felt like a horror movie despite a few horror elements in it. What classic horrors do yo think have no intent on being scary though?

I mean does it personally offend you that I'm not taking the apology at face value? He announced it at a press conference after the shit hit the fan for him. It's a good turnaround, but I'm definitely skeptical. I don't have a list of demands that I need the guy to meet, that's asinine. I'll just see if he's practicing what he preaches re: being a changed person.

Considering the dude literally didn't have to apologize at all (similar to Zoe Quinn not needing to apologize), and he didn't choose to apologize on Twitter or whatever, he made a public apology to millions of people live, I think he deserves at least a benefit of a doubt. And I'm not asking you for a list of your demands, I'm just legitimately not sure what he can do to prove that you that he's a changed man when they had to drag all of those twitter posts from a year ago and couldn't find anything recent.

Tbh, apologies are just words. It will be more meaningful when his actions prove that he doesn't ascribe to the bullshit anymore. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt, so I'll keep an eye on him, but for now... Not monetarily supporting him.

Okay what are these meaningful actions he needs to do?

And should he have to go out of his way to prove this to a group of people of which many are entirely unreasonable and would find an excuse to not accept his apologies and changes?

Or is he allowed to try and move past it without any further scrutiny so he can just create his art?

What did this guy even do to hurt anyone? He has literally done nothing to hurt a single person except say things people didn't agree with. Some of it a little too much, sure. But goodness. The guy delivers an apology and we still can't even give him the benefit of a doubt? We can't just give him a chance to not say words that you may disagree with again? So for all the one Total Divas fan here, Eva Marie and Renee Young are out of the next season, and I can't imagine Paige returning. Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax will be replacing them. I'm on board with Nia joining since she's a bigger girl and can be empowering and whatnot. Alexa is pretty inspiring too. Surprised they haven't thrown any smark favorites in there to try and drum up a little bit more interest, although I guess maybe Alexa will do for that. Sasha, Bayley, Charlotte, or Becky might be more interesting though, but they probably don't want to do it.

I just don't understand the appeal of an Xbox One/Scorpio now. Unless you're a die-hard Halo or Gears of War fan (and from what I hear their latest installments haven't been great). PS4 seems to just have more exclusives and deals with companies like the early Call of Duty expansions stuff.

I consider The Witch to have enough horror elements in it to be considered horror, honestly. Can dramatic horror be a thing? Because The Witch is that. There are legitimately moments that try to chill you to the bone, and a fair amount succeeds. For instance, the ending and the night scene before that are legitimately scary, which is the intent.

The intent behind It Comes At Night is absolutely not to scare you or anything like that.

Well of course Andrew Garfield was an awful Peter. They didn't write him as a Peter Parker at all. And considering all the accolades he's gotten from that one war movie he's in, I'd say if they wrote Peter to be more of a nerd, Andrew Garfield would have been perfect for that.

Well, I don't need to tell you that Joel Edgerton is an incredible actor. He absolutely kills it in this movie.

I'd say The Gift is kind of similar in some ways. The Gift always had me feeling uncomfortable throughout that movie too. It takes a hard look at characters and motivations like this movie does, and you have a difficult time throughout both movies trying to decide whose side you want to be on. You get multiple red flags and false flags in both of these movies too. If you liked The Gift, I could see you liking this.

The thing is, it's a really slow burn, so go with that in mind. This entire movie builds up to the climax of the movie and it does it in a way in which you have no idea how this thing is going to end. And I won't even comment on the actual ending of the movie because, well, it spoils things to even tell you how it makes you feel and it's best going into it totally dry.
