Eh, I don't think that's an issue at all. It's that nobody was forced to make a rule about it before. There's been goons going for the briefcase during a ton of these matches, not just Maryse.

I should clarify that I'm 100% okay with Daniel Bryan's ruling and setting a precedent in the future that nobody else can get the briefcase and give it to someone because he's stuck in a position to make that decision. It's actually really interesting and nobody knew which decision he would go with. They did a great job making both sides seem right and wrong. So he set the ruling for the future of the rest of these matches. (Of course I'm sure WWE will forget about it in the future anyway, but that's the idea.)

The issue is that Carmella's heat is totally dead if she loses next week. She needs to cheat and somehow win so she can go "Screw you guys, I still found a way and you can't take it away this time! I'm the rightful winner!" And then what does everyone else do? They have to bear it. No amount of complaining will fix it and they'll continue to hate Carmella. If she loses, then what is there for her? She has no smug claim to make at all.

But if Carmella doesn't win, then she instantly loses all the heat she gets from cheating to get the briefcase in the first place. So Carmella needs to win again so she can keep rubbing it in people's faces. In which case, what would have been the point of doing that finish in the first place?

WWE babyfaces will always exhibit qualities that Vince McMahon considers to be virtues. Let WWE's examples of what good people are like be a window into his soul.

I meant to bring this up with the Bayley crap going on, but this is also why all of the really good faces are buried and made to look like idiots. It's why Bayley is an absolute fucking idiot who has to look as pathetic as possible, and why Sami Zayn has to be a moron who people find annoying and gets arbitrarily forgotten about or buried, and why they never actually wanted to put over Daniel Bryan as a top guy forever because Vince doesn't think a nice guy like Daniel Bryan can ever be the top guy.

It's sad, but you'd think if you actually had more quality faces that it would help provide depth instead of making a lot of characters just feel like they blend in with one another.

Yeah, Cass is at least passable, but nothing special. And I attribute that to him actually getting time to be a single guy when Enzo busted his leg that one time and then again when he got a concussion. Enzo hasn't had any singles experience at all. It shows when he tries to have a match with Cesaro that he idiot proofs and it still ends up being terrible.

At the same time, maybe he'll learn a lot if you pair him up with some guys in the Cruiserweight division every night at house shows. Honestly, the dude gets a reaction. He should be in the Cruiserweight division to help people care about it. I've said it for a while with their impending break up coming soon.

Did you watch Ziggler last year? He had, "talk about being buried...RAMP HIGH VOICE SCREECH MODE for pop...then repeat, then wait for Ambrose or Miz to cut his balls off. He had to put his own career on the line to be interesting. But then heel Ziggler happened and he died again.

At least Corbin has the Jinder thing where he hasn't been tainted by 50 title pushes.

I don't see how any of that about Ziggler makes him any less interesting of a MITB holder than Baron Corbin, who has not had a single mildly interesting storyline in his entire time in WWE, and has not cut a single interesting promo in his entire time in WWE.

I'm not saying Ziggler should have won it, but someone brought up that Ziggler would be less interesting with MITB and I absolutely disagree.

But at least Dolph has more than one promo and he's a weaselly little shit that could actually do something with being a two time MITB winner. Because he'll be smug and terrible the whole time he has it while Corbin with the MITB will likely be just as interesting as Corbin with the Andre statue.

Really? Dolph Ziggler?

Yeah, I think even freaking Dolph Ziggler would be more interesting because he's at least got the smug "lol I got this thing twice, and I already cashed it in once already." Baron Corbin will still cut the same boring promos and have his same storylines where he continues to beat people up backstage just 'cause. At least Ziggler has a personality that having the MITB would work well with. For Baron, there really doesn't seem like there's much they can do with him having the briefcase that is anything inventive.

Well, let's put it this way.

If you toss Bayley, Becky, Nattie, Mickie, and Alexa in the match, people wouldn't be saying "This is a bad idea and someone might die" from the get-go. I will say they played it very, very safeand I feel like if they didn't trust them to be able to do a bit more that they probably should have thought it over more before it was made.

Like, I'm fine with the ending. I think it's a pretty solid ending.

But it feels like it would've been better for a second Women's MITB match with how much they hyped up how great and historic it is for the women and then have a dude just get the briefcase and give it to a girl. Like, wouldn't it have been a great photo op/clip for the history of this match and all future "Look at how great and equal our women are now!" montages and whatnot if they had a woman actually grabbing the briefcase and holding it up. Because now our historic image is Carmella sitting there as a briefcase drops into her lap.

Big Show just completely buried the writers and said he hates Mondays on Raw because they give him terrible ideas and that everyone just looks around at each other bewildered and asks why they're doing this awful stuff. I think the hate over the graphics is overblown, honestly. The only issue is with animations, which makes them all look emotionless. Hopefully that gets fixed. And yeah, the roster is definitely lacking.

But absolutely everything in this game mechanics-wise is a sound and understandable decision that I feel is going to help make this game exciting and fun.

There are three things that (IMO) a QTE sequence needs to be good:

1) It should be clearly telegraphed
2) The buttons should logically correspond to the action, using the same controls the player would to do a similar action
3) The penalty for failure should be minimal, at worst setting you back to just before the start of the sequence itself (If it's a 'spectacular finishing move on a boss' QTEs, then the boss can be slightly healed so you have to hit it a bit more before you get another attempt. You should never have to start the fight all over again). I guess getting knocked onto the bad branch of a story because you fail is a penalty too, so that's acceptable.

I'm mostly basing this off Tomb Raider Legend, which made excellent use of QTEs.

This is a good post.

I hate them in gameplay for the most part, personally, unless it's for something epic like a boss battle. In regular combat it's just redundant. I also think that if you have QTEs, you kind of need to have something awesome visually to pay it off because without that, it's just super lame.

And never do it the Beyond Two Souls way in which you literally never have to do successfully do a QTE all game and it changes absolutely nothing.
