I'm on a dead end street surrounded by woods. And a old cemetery is yards away in the woods. I'm honestly terrified at what I just heard.

I'm alone in my room with the lights off. Should I knock 3 times to see if it will scratch back?

I live in a city outskirts with lots of houses and businesses and even traffic late in the morning like at 3am people still driving down the roads and I hear scratching time to time.

It is liklely and animal. One time it was my neighbor cat who jumped on my window and looked at me.
Another time I heard this SUPER loud noise. It was a possum rubbing its butt on my wood fence.

Never go investigate the noises. You are most likely either going to die, or be a jump scare later in the movie that you are somehow alive.. then you die.

I took it as non-fiction as a child. My teacher had it in her books section lol. She was kind of a spiritual hippy lady iirc

scratchy windows and placing stakes on the hearts of dead bodies to ensure they dont turn is all I remember

In old world lore, vampires will actually get your attention at a door or window and ask if they can come in. They can't enter unless invited. So they try to trick you into thinking you can trust them. I think I saw a clip of that show mentioned, From, where a mom walks into her kid's room and sees the child speaking to someone outside their window. And then screams at the kid to not open the window I think

I really need to watch that show
