You can actually get in without it, if the Mist near the Bilewater fast travel didn't stonewall me initially, I could have gotten into the Citadel without even going to the Blasted Steps.

I did Rasher in one try. And got to the mask guy on top of Mt. Fay in one try. Delivering to the Fleas in Act 3 almost made me bust up my controller, PC, and TV.

Blitzed through the game in the last day or so. Beat it 100% at 50 hours. I did need to use a guide to find everything I was missing at the end of act 2 and 3, but I'm glad I found most things on my own.

I stuck with the architect crest as much as I could, and unfortunately cheesed the final boss with the most overpowered tools I could use.

Last Judge had an AWFUL runback, which pissed me off because he's a big fucking fatass that does 2 damage contact if he touches you. Took me like 15 tries. I WILL say I forgot about charged Nail strikes which I should have been doing around his big long annoying ass attacks.

Yes, you get a choice when you beat the boss.

Explored the remainder of the Deep Docks, beat Savage Beastfly 2.0 (Thanks Cogflies), found the Flea Tracker,

  • Finished Huntress Quest.
  • Cleared out Aquaducts (I think, zone seems weirdly small though)
  • Cleared out the remainder of Deep Docks
  • Beat Savage Beastfly 2.0 (Thanks Cogflies)
  • Found Flea Tracker, bought Flea Pins, moved the Caravan to their final stop.
  • Cleared Sinner's Road and The Mist, freed the Bug Guy.
Other than some fleas and everything related to Bilewater I think I'm fully done with Act 2. I can't think of much else to do beyond cleaning out the various shop inventories. For a bit of fun I started a new Hollow Knight profile (never beat the game) and I found it insanely easy. Knight is slower than Hornet even while walking, but the enemies are largely slower too. It feels like playing the game in slow motion almost. Really funny actually.

In-Laws are visiting so I'll probably return to the game when they're gone.

Yeah I had a muuuuch easier time going through that way than I did through Blasted Steps.

If you have the muckfly repelant wreathe you can even swim in the juice to avoid doing spike ball pogo stuff on Sinner's Road. Helps cut down on some riskiness.

I've not done the courier run, but the platforming + enemies in Sinner's Road and Bilewater are WAY less annoying than Blasted Steps.

Definitely disagree. As long as you have double jump (and you HAVE to have double jump to do the rest of the gourmand quest so if you're running Courier's Rasher without it you're a masochist) you can bypass literally all but 1 enemy in Blasted Steps, the first conch fly of the Last Judge runback.

Try doing this in Act 3 and you'll see why I prefered the Organ route instead.

Route also holds up in Act 3, where you can also make good use of Soaring Silk to shortcut some of the verticality segments, as long as you know when to cancel it.

They are easily avoidable tho. The jumping roaches, you go up first to avoid the one on the ground, go on the ground to avoid the one on the cage, then back up to avoid the one on the floor. And that's the last of the roaches lol. You also don't touch any portion of Bilewater with this route, just the Exhaust Organ to easily climb up and through the underworks.

With the Sinner's road route, that first room is fairly easy to get through when you know which way to go without waking those muckroach beasties, the second room can be bypassed entirely with a Silk Soar (I cancel it at about 4 seconds so I don't bonk the ceiling), the upper left room can be swam through if you have the Wreath. Bilewater, you barely pass through, you're coming at it from the far left side, and the only point of interest is the entrance to The Eternal Organ.

Only one easy to dodge enemy in there and couple of relatively easy wall climbs with few hazards.

When you end up in The Citadel, you're in an easier spot to drop the Rasher off from as the enemies are spread out in the vertical rooms, and the few that are in the corridors are easy to evade. In Act 3 the first couple of enemies are perma dead so it's even easier to get through the earlier part of Citadel.

This route holds up much better in Act 3 so if you're in that part of the game I'd recommend it over Blasted Steps which becomes infested with Void boosted beasties in much harder spots to evade. Jumping away from a Judge enemy just to get void blast sniped from off screen while you're wall climbing is NOT FUN.

anyway question. How do I get the 4th Pale Oil I have the reward for all fleas and the achievement. I read I need to get a quest from Bellheart but theres nothing there

The only things you can miss for the bestiary in act 3 that I know of are the optional fights against 2 NPCs.
