I use Reddit and here, which are technically social media, but that's it.

And reddit is more of a news aggregate, I don't comment much.

And here is more of just I've been here 24 years and it doesn't really grow at this point so I "know" most of you.

when people say social media, they mean post 2007 social media. Gamefaqs aint that. Reddit is though, as it was around before 07 i believe, but wasnt really a popular site until late 00s.

twitter didnt take off until their sxsw conference in 2007. In fact, remember when writing on your own "wall" on facebook was considered lame? Thats literally all twitter is.

Facebook opened to the general public in 2007. When it was only limited to college and high school email addresses it was WAY more tolerable.

That's how products have always worked. The best example is chik fil a. Everyone knew for years that they were anti gay, but the sandwich was too good. Then popeyes came out with a superior one and everyone dropped CFA instantly since it wasn't "worth it" anymore.

What's sad about Twitter is that it was never worth it to anyone OTHER than media professionals (esp sports). It made their jobs so much easier and more exciting and there will never be something like that ever again. So they must hold on until there's a legitimate alternative, but there won't be. The media industry is crashing thanks to the social media that they themselves amplified, they will be their own downfall.

Probably some parallels with AI and the tech industry.

Maybe she realized after the last couple weeks of Iowa politics that she did fuck up enough to lose in 2026 when she said "well we're all going to die anyways" in response to Social Security and Medicare cuts at a town hall.

Perhaps it was the quality of the stream but his eyes looked bloodshot and he had trouble keeping them open. He also reached for the podium on multiple occasions as if he needed support to stand. But he's probably fine, healthy as a horse.
