Sound effects are defined as sound recorded to make a specific storytelling or creative point without the use of dialogue or music.

Sound effects can be of any length, but should not be long enough to be considered a song in any way.

Jingles are NOT sound effects, as they are considered to be short songs.

Sound effects do not have to originate from a video game, but it should be associated with it.

Sound effects can be from one individual game, a game series, or even cross game franchises.

Yeah I gotta go with this.

As for the poll, I voted Linus on a whim because as long as he sees you as manipulable or in some way valuable, he'll usually let you live, and because as long as he's unarmed he's pretty easy to physically overpower, but on second thought reading through the choices Newman is more of a nuisance than anything else and there's no real risk of being killed so actually him.

I think Sonic losing his rings is more iconic than collecting a ring but that's just me.

All I know is that MGS Alert is a lock

My brothers kids regularly watches YouTube and Twitch streams where that sound effect goes off.

Come to think of it, we do need a judge's decision on whether or not Zelda's puzzle solved sound is a jingle or not.

I wanted to vote for the Codec sound effect too but I didn't want to put two MGS ones on here
