Kinda surprised Sazh's record is so mediocre and that this is his first single-digit placement. I thought he was pretty well-liked and had some strong supporters.

We had to get championships for the three ladies first.

Sazh is one of those guys everyone says they like but he's rarely a high priority for multiple people, at least initially. He's one of those guys who needs the eliminations to fall right.

Things fell right for him this year, so he had a good run

Yeah if you have Sazh as your favorite from XIII you are one of the few that does not think XIII is the best FF game on this board

I like Sazh and usually try and give him saves during the boot phases when I have capacity for it. Unfortunately don't have the availability to free save him after that, usually.

I when into FFXIII thinking Lightning would be an easy favorite but walked away disappointed. She didn't really have the full MC energy that I expected from the game's packaging. She was just the closest thing to a main character in an ensemble cast. (Which is not a bad thing overall, but I thought the story would focus on her).

Vanille siphoned off a good amount of MC energy there (deservedly so)

Yeah, Lightning is the face of the game but it's an ensemble cast

I find it highly suspicious that the only two female protagonists are in ensemble casts though!!

Lightning is the indisputable main character of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII!

XIII is not good but Sazh is my 2nd favourite character (behind Vanille duh)

If FFT counts then my favorite character is Algus who is only the protagonist of chapter 1

For FFX it does apply to Tidus though

I can't help it that the protagonist tends to be the best character in most good games

Oh, right. With only 6 regular rounds left and an 8 point lead, Martin has secured another year as the snipemaster with his 16 kills (and counting!)

I think VII is the only game in the series where the protagonist is my favorite character (with XVI TBD).
