Sloppy joes are good. I actually prefer them on a hotdog bun. They have a huge variety too. My favorite is BBQ based and who doesn't like BBQ with ground beef?

sadly thats how most recipe sites are, give you their life story before letting you get what you want. Either that they want to you to subscribe (screw you Delish)

hence why I copy and paste the recipe into a paper copy I keep in my kitchen cookbook.

I love how "ground meat with sauce served with some carb" is basically a staple for so many countries' cuisines.

In China/Taiwan, we have something called a Lion's Head Meatball, which is really just ground pork with some fillers, cooked in sauce and served over rice

In Korea, you can take ground beef and onions (so literally the same as a sloppy joe), add a sweet sauce, and it becomes Beef Bulgogi which you serve over rice

In Japan, they have a dish called oyakodon, which can be made with ground chicken and onions (notice a theme here), simmer it in a sweet sauce, and serve over rice.

And of course there are tacos which are usually ground beef too. I guess food really does make the world go round.

Hell no. I just realized I need to fend for myself Thursday - Sunday so now I'm thinking sloppy joes are on the menu. Put on some cheddar cheese and bam. Delicious. Basically chili on a bun.

I've heard about recipe sites doing that, I've never actually seen it before.
Maybe cause i almost exclusively use Swedish language recipe sites, and they most often just get to the important bit right away

Great stuff! I used to make them every now and again. It's such a simple, comfortable lunch/dinner. I like being able to control how much ground beef is on a bun.
It's easy to dress them up or just chow down. They're great with fries.

I'm American and agree with you that they are gross. They probably taste good but since I was a kid seeing them served at school they skeeved me out, so I've never wanted to eat it. I also don't like meatloaf.
