You know the history of war and terrorism in Israel - this probably doesn't move the needle. Pretty sure the IDF has bombed more than 9 Israeli children in the war on Gaza anyway. Accidentally, but still.

Another thing you need to learn is that the Oct 7 attacks were so shocking globally primarily because there were lots of foreigners at the concert. If it was just Israelis, it's still shocking because it's over 1000 deaths, but the world would care far less.

All pro-Israel hawks and warmongers in the US and Europe truly don't give a shit about the lives and culture of Israel. They've convinced you (Netanyahu mostly) to fight every day, give up your own lives to countless wars in the middle east, sacrifice your liberty and safety to the military industrial complex, all for our benefit. We in the west sit at home, enjoying the spoils of the proxy wars, without a single worry about bombs or terrorists at our doorstep.

So the question is, what do WE (not you) have to gain from escalating against Hezbollah for this incident? If it's nothing, then nothing will happen.

Coming back to this, you're missing a huge part of the political strategy & economics here.

All the battlegrounds require money to maintain, and it's asymmetrical. Some places are cheap to attack but expensive to defend. Florida is likely one of those places, so 1 Kamala dollar goes farther than 1 Trump dollar. This means Kamala can raise the pressure on Florida to drain Trump's resources, even if there's no intention of winning the state. At some point there's diminishing returns, but it means it's never worth it to fully ignore a place.

Biden seemed like that when giving speeches but there is definitely newfound enthusiasm.

I dont think there was the best reason to be particularly afraid of his polling numbers against the MAGA cult, but if hes going to keep making a liability of himself urging him to step down makes sense.

There's literally nobody who could inspire that base in the same way at this time, and there won't be for years. If Trump steps down, not only are they cooked, but they probably end up losing every close race in the country. Too many people only show up for Trump now.

Nikki Haley is by far the best positioned to win the party's nomination in Trump's absence, and I think she could win a general, but she lost the primary to Trump so I don't know what would happen if Trump stepped down. Unlikely the party could get its shit together.

No one has the celebrity of Trump.

There isn't a guarantee the movement dies with Trump, but at the very least it will be very difficult to maintain. We've seen Republican's try to be Donald Trump and aside from the most backwater places they have mostly failed.
