What's the worst thing you've ever tasted?

I got an envelope of an unopened pack of Garbage Pail Kids for my birthday one year, with a note saying "Don't eat the gum".

I put the gum in my mouth.

It was rock-hard, crumbly, and tasted like chalk.

Fermented shrimp paste if were purely talking about food.

my senior year of high school I had pneumonia, and the doctor prescribed me industrial strength cough syrup. Twas a vile concoction indeed!

Amosan mouth rinse.
Had to use it back when I was, like 15, and got a canker sore. It tasted like rotten eggs, and I had to swish it in my mouth for 30 seconds. Had to do that a few times. It haunts me.

I used to get canker sores a lot when I was a kid, and I would gargle with salt water.

I'm reminded of when I was a kid and came down with some kind of illness, and the medicine I had to take was, well... it was purple, had the consistency of a thick smoothie, but had an awful, synthetic and bitter taste that would make sugar-free juice concentrate feel like pure nectar.
To this day I cannot even guess what flavour it was trying to be.

A small brown seed that I found on the ground around age 4. It made me sick for about 2 weeks.

Hakarl a few weeks ago, the Icelandic delicacy.

Rotted fermented shark. The smell was enough to fry my sinuses. It smelled like a 10 year old dry, unwashed urinal cake. And tasted the same way.

I had it on a food walking tour in Reyjkavik lol

Pepperspray, or whatever fucking chemical was in there.....

Sprayed whipped cream on top of a hot coffee once and left it for a few minutes. Not entirely sure why but it was the single most disgusting rotten taste I ever experienced in my life. Not really sure what happened there.

It was so bad that it made the idea of normal coffee seem disgusting to me for weeks.

Some fancy cheese that had turned in a bad way. Cringed so hard I pulled my face muscles.

Rotten chicken liver.

Though the time I drink a bit of Kool-Aid thinking it was iced tea is up there too.

You can get these potato snacks in the UK called Nik Naks. I had a pack of them when I was a kid that had gone wrong somehow. Don't know if there had been an accident in production or they'd been contaminated somehow but I vomited almost immediately and was ill for a week. Can still remember the taste now.

psilocybin mushrooms, easily. i'm fine when chewing them up, but when i go to swallow them it's such a struggle. i swallow the whole thing in one go and almost puke every time. SO GROSS.

oh god and then finding them stuck in my teeth like an hour later and i taste them again. ew ew ew

Spoiled milk. A taste I'll never forget. Far worse than you can imagine if you've never tasted it.

I had an Oatmeal Raisin Stout that was so bad I emailed the company to say it was the worst beer I ever tasted and that they should have done the right thing and thrown the batch out

I had a chili cheese dog at Krystal once, I didn't think it was possible for anything with chili and cheese to taste bad, but it was the worst hotdog ever.

Read through this whole topic, while eating no less, and this is the one that got me.

I can't think of the grossest thing I've tasted tbh. Maybe one of those prank candies that taste rotten but aren't actually unsafe.

First time i tried Thai food, I got some coconut curry meat and rice. It was very yellow and smelled weird, but i thought "try new things". Tasted like a dirty diaper smells. I was sick for 2 days.

The ones I had, the stems kind of tasted like old mcdonalds french fries. Wasn't bad but the cap which was the size of a quarter was awful
