It felt like the polar opposite of the Star Wars style space opera and I loved it. I still love it, but it is a beautiful mess of a film. The new films are meticulously orchestrated in comparison. So no, Lynch's Dune was not better. --- The food here is terrible. It wasn't realistic to actually cover all of them book and so it wasn't attempted. Lynch tried to cover a lot more of the book and it fell apart quickly and then got a really bad ending.
