So a new legends game? Cool I'll play that. Hopefully it'll improve upon what I liked in the last one.

Can't believe we're getting Z.

Hope we see AZ in the past.

Im actually pretty hyped for this. Gen 6 having a potential Z game got me back into Pokmon after stopping at Gold/Silver. X and Y were huge advancements for me and had so much potential they never reached.

then the lack of Z and what I played of Sun made me incredibly disinterested until Legends.

Lumiose city only seems very odd choice. Unless its the same as Legends Arceus and we are just using Lumiose as a hub to go to different biomes. Legends needs incredibly diverse Biomes

Megas returning is important too. I hope this is the push to the game creators to keep it going forward. (Even though I doubt itll ever be used again until Gen 6 remakes)

Pokemon Legends Z-A (Legends game in Kalos) is the only thing worth caring about from the presentation. Aside from that and some digital TCG thing that looked like NFTs, everything else was mobile game shit no one cares about.

Lumiose was already a contentious city even from the original games it debuted in. Loads of people did not care for its sprawling confusing layout, and there was even that game breaking bug that caused players to be permanently stuck in it that they had to release a patch for. There is no way they'd make this place an entire game. This isn't FF7 Remake.

We really should have gotten more announcements otherwise whats even the point of having a Presents? Pokken Tournament, Detective Pikachu, Pokemon Snap, mother fucking Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. ANYTHING is better than nothing.

I think the card game is better than crap maybe. It looks like a full fledged Pokmon Trading Card Game digital adaptation. It could end up as huge as blizzards Hearthstone and Marvel's Snap or whatever its called

But they should put the card game on Switch also

Yes it would be stupid. But the game looks more modern than PLA did, so the excuse of only having one town may not work like it did for that game.

There are biomes surrounding it but mostly grass ones. The ice and volcano and desert regions all border other towns. would be somewhat weird to go to the ice biome but then not go to Snowbelle you know?

the only way I could see it being just Lumiose is if they put the biomes into the city, ironically somewhat like Midgar. The design of the town looks like there are 5 unique plates that could be individual biomes

The TCG thing seemed to imply that it was its own meta with updated visuals. PTCGO right now gets a lot of criticism for being buggy and less generous than the predecessor. I guess we can only tell when it comes

I do wish there was a Pokemon TCG game where the meta was a bit more free. PTCGO ended up being one of the blandest card games I've ever played. At one point I faced the same 3 decks and the duels literally happened EXACTLY the same vs. different decks. There was like 1 deck that played differently, and it was pretty degenerate, and ppl took fucking forever doing their turns (Lost Zone)

I haven't seen anyone in this topic mention it, but I saw a comment in the youtube section earlier that pointed out the "A" in "Z-A" is actually a Greek letter, Lambda, and compared it to the Alpha and Omega symbols for the Gen 3 remakes. Sorry I can't remember more of what they said but it'd probably be impossible to find that comment again after nearly 4 hours having seen it.

It's certainly possible, but neither of those things is certain. Regigigas and Arceus both still kind of had their abilities in Arceus. And they could always just allow pokemon to go mega without a hold item. Like as long as you have the mega stone in your bag, that species can evolve or something like that. But I wouldn't expect them to reuse Arceus' exact battle system anyway, so anything is possible.

To play devil's advocate, Slow Start still existed in Legends: Arceus without abilities, and Mega Evolution was still possible in LG:PE without items.

Yeah, completely forgot about that...guess we'll see as we get more info

Because ultimately there are people that enjoy the mobile content too and people love turning blind eyes to their own critical points with the IP being the biggest multimedia franchise.

the card game app seems like it's the Pokemon version of Yugioh Duel Links.

Pokemon Sleep stuff was kinda hype, though that game's been getting even better updates outside of this event. Their first legendary run is really freaking hype though

Out of the Pokemon mobile games I played, Sleep is weirdly the one that's developed the best. They constantly add new features that fix things people complained about before, and all the seasonal events and new content updates have been pretty nice. Honestly if they matched the legendary dog reveals with the release of the new locale, that would've been great, but it's better to have the new island earlier than not

I don't understand. If they are bringing the Pokemon TCG to digital/mobile, then what is the Pokemon TCG game I have on my iphone already? I haven't really played it but I thought that already filled that purpose?

I am guessing one will be more for quick formats and the other for more advanced formats. Basically it looks more like YGO Duel Links for Pokemon

It just dawned on me that they pretty much just announced November's pokemon game a year in advance meaning for the rest of this year there is no new main game pokemon title and next year will be a very slow drip of information on this game and the year after that, 2026 will be Gen 10. Wow. Hope the pokemaniacs don't go insane having to wait at least 2 years to play new pokemon be they evolution or mega evolution

From what I've seen, everyone is really happy there's no new main game until like 2026, since it would give the devs more time to actually finish a game.

Anyway, just read that Legends ZA will be present day and also only in Lumiose, so that kinda kills all my hype for it. I really wanted a story during the war 3000 years ago with AZ.

New legends game sounds interesting. I'll also give props to the man in the gray tweed jacket with a 3/2 roll and plaid tie. All he needed is a button down shirt for the trad look.

Not necessarily. It could release earlier in the year. It's hard to say if the delay is to give it more time, or because the Switch 2 was delayed. I'm honestly thinking it's the latter.

Some people are making comparison with Yugioh's digital games, where Master Duel is for the more competitive players, while Duel Links is more suited for the casuals.

I think that's what Pokemon is aiming here, since it seems the announced game in the Presents will be more casual in nature, basically Pokemon's "Duel Links".
