I just love making characters that I would never be able to see . While I do like to draw, I cannot draw as well was AI, and Commissions are not in the picture for me right now. But if you can think something up it can make it. And to me that is just out standing. What do you guys think about it?

Like I made this Superhero team and I think they look so cool. I have better looking for one for some reason the Fox lady doesn't have pants. And I don't know if I would get modded for that.

i'm staunchly opposed to it. i dislike that it is roundabout stealing from existing artists. i dislike that people use it as a means of cheapening existing art/artists. i dislike that instead of offering relief from tedium so the artists can do the creative side, it is doing "creative" side while artists continue with tedium

You can draw this if you practiced.

Instead of letting a computer steal assets from other pre-existing artists.

Or you could hire someone.

Never understood the point of AI art except as a tool to make corps money and slash jobs, it always looks awful.

Even ignoring it tendency to fuck up on finer details, it always ends up looking like the AI applied a beauty filter over the characters and that just ends up making everything look kind of waxy.

i think if you want to draw, you should put in the work and make it happen. the sad truth is that not everyone is cut out for creation and creativity, not everyone needs or deserves a tool to churn out whatever they want if they didn't care enough to try, or did, but gave up to use the more convenient option

i know you write, and you obviously have some kind of ideas to feed AI with, so even if you're a not a great artist, i still always recommend you do your best to create something original. i'm not a great artist, i look back on things i've drawn yesterday and cringe at it, but at least it's my own, and that's something i value in other people's art too, so much more than whether or not it looks "good."

the human element in art should be preserved, not replaced, because art is the one truly meaningful thing that we can leave behind for future generations, just like it started with cave paintings.

that ghostchant dude's been an AI-defending drone here before, disregard him. at the risk of sounding like a smug douchebag, the AI art craze really made me realize just how far apart "creatives" and "non-creatives" are, and it's frustrating. many people really do not give a single shit about anything, from art, to nature, anything outside of their own selfish desires. "fuck art, fuck your job, fuck animals, fuck plants, i love AI and i litter"

Yeah, the whole AI thing lately has really got me believing in the fact that most people are just zombies existing for their own comfort and nothing else.

It's a fun tool to use but it's never going to replace real art. You can spot from a mile away it's imperfections.

I mean the entire tech sector is basically a cult at this point. I'm just wondering how they're going to torpedo AI somehow so they can move on to the next big thing in a few years at this point. My bet is massively over priced specialized models that don't work quite as well as they should.

I enjoy using it to make dumb stuff but yeah it sucks that it's using everyone's stuff and churning out stuff

Even worse are the patreons full of 100% generated art and people actively pay to sub to them for whatever reason

People are really under the illusion that it takes some sort of skill to figure out AI prompts.

I don't like it. It just has a fake feeling to it. And that's before getting into the theft of it all. It would be one thing if AI image generation was built off open source material or they got permission to use someone's work in the model. There would still be the danger of AI images used to harm or mislead and it would absolutely take jobs from artists, but at least it wouldn't be stealing to do it.

But that isn't even the case, instead it's going to take the hard work and actual creative talent of artists and then replace then. That's fucked.

I believe (hope?) that there will always be a place for human art. Though it may very well become a luxury, bespoke product, with only the very best able to make a living from it.

Just like how mass, automated production didn't completely kill handmade clothing, pottery, jewellery making, etc.

We've had a brief window in history, thanks largely to the internet, where a mass of people have been able to commercialise their creativity on a wider scale, but this may be over in the near future.

I don't like it, but it feels inevitable once it becomes no longer possible to distinguish between AI art and human at various levels of execution.

The whole tech field is just created religion and buzzwords around generative AI. Tech people scaring other tech people into buying into these things in fear of being left behind, like always. And then normal people dont care about it as much, or it turns out the voice AI you heard was actually scripted or impersonated by a troll. Then they move on to the next thing.

Im just waiting until teleportation becomes the big grift. Or time control. Tech bros have tons of control issues, imagine that grift.

Some people online are okay with reading comic books for free, playing games for free, watching tv shows and movies for free and listening to music for free despite knowing its wrong to do so but when it comes to artificially generated content is somehow think of the artist not being paid!

i'm not stealing shit from the music i listen to or art i look at to feed into AI and generate something else to call my own creation, not to mention the patreon shit again where people want to be paid for it, or the heaps of AI art "visual novels" that people want money for. again, this is a non-creative's failure to understand what the problem is, and closed-minded people who don't give a shit about art will never get it
