I have absolutely zero doubt that we will get a P4 remake, using the exact same engine as P3R.

Honestly it may not even have much of a turnaround time. I'm going to double down and say we will have a trailer for P4R (it'll be R, not sure what word) within the next 2 years.

My only question is what it will include. I'm in the awkward situation now where I bitched about them not including stuff from P and FES in P3R, but now my desire for P4R is to not include anything from Golden, lol.

I truly don't know what the point of this would be since Golden exists and they just ported it to PC. There's not much to gain from an update unless you're overhauling a lot of the writing or something.

That said they'll remake anything these days so it'll probably happen

Unlike P3P, Golden isn't a weird non-canon sidegrade to the original game (as much as you may want it to be), it's a straight port with additional content. Not really comparable.

I mean I think they revealed themselves to be full of shit when they announced The Answer DLC before the game even launched. There is no "vision" here.

Truly, honestly, the best case scenario you are asking for here with a P3R style remake is that you get an initial overhaul that has some basic, non-Golden QoL features, and then have to shell out more money later for the bulk of the Golden additions (including Marie).

I need to see more of RaFantzio for sure. I think everything about the presentation is beyond incredible, but the game needs to be good too. SMTV was solid but did not live up to it's potential (and not just because it was being choked to death by the Switch).

Yeah I'm mostly kidding, I am for sure excited for it but given ATLUS's mixed track record lately I'm expecting at least a little bit of a trainwreck that looks and sounds very cool

Also if it does come out this year it probably won't even be the best JRPG, the year's just stacked

P3R includes all the non-Answer FES content already, like the Elizabeth dates and the Aigis S-Link.

Also the new VAs in P3R are absolutely killing it. Most of them just sound almost the same except with better direction, then you get Fuuka's new VA who is, you know, not completely terrible like original Fuuka. Akihiko is the only one that's note of a sidegrade and sounds pretty different, but Liam O'Brien is a steep hill to climb.

P4 already replaced characters as it was. I wouldnt mind a remake replacing them yet again. Losing JYB Narukami and Troy Baker Kanji would hurt a lot though especially since they might not grab Matt Mercer to be the Kanji replacement a second time. I dunno if theres a 3rd guy who sounds as similar as those two do.
