Moore voted against for procedural reasons after it already lost, which I don't think was necessary like it can be for the Majority Leader in the Senate.

They literally only have a 1 seat majority. These people are so fucking dumb that they keep just going full-steam ahead like they were when they had a 5 seat majority, which still got in the way of what they wanted.

The bill is alright in terms of border security, but it does not stop release into the US and in fact will expand alternative to detention, so it doesn't really help us in NYC. It provides us no funding or anything for services provided to the migrants.

We've been waiting almost 2 years for something to change here in NYC and we've been ignored and it's only gotten worst and most of that time, we had Title 42, which helped reduced things, yet was still overwhelming. This bill would likely end up bringing us back to Title 42 levels.

You can't keep releasing people into the country with no support from the feds. This is not the job of states, cities and charities, which are all overwhelmed already. Entire migrant families are starting to end up in the streets.

They're being "voluntarily apprehended" because requesting asylum requires them to do so. That they're released and given a distant court date is a problem with the system, not our enforcement (or lack thereof) of the law. The bipartisan bill would have, among other things, increased our system's capacity to process asylum claims at a more reasonable clip. Republicans shot it down because they don't want to fix the problem they'd rather campaign on.

No it wouldn't. It adds zero new judges and just speeds up the initial screening and Title 42 type removal.

The NY Times just reported the other day that even if they were to add 1k more judges, the current backlog still wouldn't be complete till 2032. If the system is overwhelmed, you stop, and it's clear several systems involved in this are overwhelmed.

Yeah, vote counting is part of legislating. Calling a vote without having every detail nailed down is scrotum brained. They can say they had "the balls" to do it, but it ends up being a stupid failure on a day when they had two others. Not a good look.
