Though I do feel the change in Dave's relationship with Katie is ironically iffy.

Pretending to be gay means she told him things in confidence that she otherwise may have not. So as horrific as her final bit is in the comic, it seems more like a response for being lied to that way.

I'll be more charitable than Millar deserves and suggest that perhaps everyone present was in shock at the sight of a magic flying fetus phasing out of its host and into the surgeon's body. Most people probably would go full-on "deer in headlights" mode at such a horrific sight.

No, what stretches the limits of plausibility here is that said surgeon didn't immediately demand an all-cisgender-male team of surgeons and/or exorcists to take out the demonic parasite that was now making itself at home in her uterus. This would be the moment where even hardcore misogynistic, anti-abortion, religious fundamentalists would be in favor of allowing this particular abortion, on the grounds of preventing the birth of what is clearly the motherfucking Antichrist.

He wrote Dark Knight Returns, the template Zack Snyder used for Batman vs Superman if that gives you a better idea.

He has another movie that's directly based on his comic, Sin City.

he hates super heros because they are popular in america and blames super heros for the lack of none super hero comics

even thoe there are plenty of famous and successful none super hero comics in america

hell thanks to the internet there are 10000s of successful and popular american made comics with no super heros in them

and reminder MARVEL was the one to take down the comics code authority ( a key player in the death of none super hero comics)

and it was writers like niel gaimen that popularized none super hero works

hell as much as i hate frank miller he did put out some good darker super hero stuff in the 80s

meanwhile edge lords like garth and mark get by soley on edge for the sake of edge that never reaches any real main stream appeal unless its an adaption that turns their garbage into a workable story

thoe as you and others have said they both have made good superman content so they have that

I actually did a speedrun of all 24 issues of this.

Spoilers but I doubt anyone here will read it.

The last 6 issues, or Magic Order 4, is completely insane. They kill off 95% of the characters that were introduced in the first 18 issues including the child niece of the MC (who the MC just never brings up again?) because of a former Order exile who originally appeared to just want to be the leader of the Order again, even trying to get back her cashier job as her original cover but then decides to just summon an ultimate god to destroy the world for the evulz. And then the ultimate turns out to be a fantasy writer who was given the power by a demon to warp reality by making everything he write becomes real and the writer is defeated by an alternate version of the writer who lived a happy life reminding the writer that he still had some good in him even though he had originally killed off 1 billion of the population before reversing time. But the 95% of the characters still stay dead because they just don't care about reversing time this time I guess? Also nobody cares about this demon who was somehow able to give this fantasy writer god his powers to begin with. It's an absolute mindfuck.

Wow, the comic shared by OP is somehow worse than basically ALL of the iskeai anime/LN/etc stuff. Yes, ALL OF THEM*.

They at least have to wait to be born before getting OP and/or abusing the general mechanic of "when you are a baby/kid you grow 10 times faster for magic/etc" routine.

*I have never seen one that starts before birth with powerleveling/etc. One could exist for all I know.

I didn't realize he did Kingsman. Never read it, I enjoy the movies.

His Nemesis is basically what if Bruce Wayne turned out to be more like Patrick Bateman instead of Batman.

One of the funniest I've seen was this one. The art is just so fucking weird and sinisterly lit. From what I remember, this is a social worker or something that works at a group home or orphanage or something. A kid, Layla Miller, has been living with X-Factor Investigations and been really happy there while she's completely miserable at the group home.

This woman isn't even a bad guy. She wink-wink-nudges them by saying that if a kid were to run away, the system is so backlogged that probably no one would go looking for them for ages. Or something like that.

To be fair, Garth Ennis is very talented but he needs to be kept on a short leash. Hitman is one of my favorite series of all time and his Hellblazer stuff is legendary. It's only when he's given free reign like in The Preacher that it gets disgusting.

Speaking of anime, I was thinking how the plot of this comic was more of a mindfuck and harder to understand than Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Multiverse stuff usually gets too much for me.
