Just had it done with the gum needle, felt literally nothing and had basically no problem recovering. I'll recommend the needles.

I'm three days out of my wisdom teeth being pulled and feeling great, first day was the toughest then it has been smooth sailing after.

As much as the shots for getting a tooth pulled suck, the second they're over, they're over. A few seconds of bad pain are well worth the cost difference imo.

I saved a lot of money on my wisdom teeth extraction by sucking it up and dealing with it lol

Looks like the gum needle wins. I still have questions
How long does the procedure take?
What will I have to eat afterwards?
Should I keep the pain medication I bought a week or so ago around for this?

Depends on how things go with the teeth. I had wisdom teeth pulled but it took like 20 minutes, but I hear that went a bit fast, from start to finish.

Cold stuff stuff first day(applesauce, yogurt, milkshakes but no straws, jello as examples)

They'll probably give you pain meds. Check for interactions with whatever antibiotic they give you.

I would have to go with the needle. I went to the dentist a couple years ago and they tried the gas and it didn't affect me, even at the highest level.

The only time I remember getting gas was when I had to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted, and I was out for the entire procedure. Any time else for fillings, or crowns, or the one root canal a few years back have been needles.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out last Friday at 1. Good luck. There will be lots of blood the first day. Keep yourself hydrated. Use the ice pack they give you. Youll feel normal again on day 4.

Never had gas, needle is fine.

Procedure doesn't take that long.

They just break the teeth into pieces and pull each root out one by one.
Thats it.

Well, the usual stuff should be avoided. No coffee, no smoking, no alcohol, and obviously no salty, rough or hard things that could scratch some stuff open.

Pulling the teeth will obviously create a nasty wound, but your body will simply close it with some blood clot on it's own.

Protect this blood clot at all costs.

They'll tell you this stuff when they do it, but until the sockets heal over, avoid using straws, smoking, soda, and (as best you can) sneezing. Anything that can either dissolve the blood clot that forms in them or cause enough of a pressure differential to suck it out is bad news.

Also, rinse them out with salt water regularly.

This. They always (or should always) do the needle for removing a tooth or any other major work. The gas just calms you, and has very minor numbing qualities. I hate needles, so I get the gas specifically to make the needle bearable to me, and then so the sound/pressure feeling of work being done no longer bothers me.

That pressure was something else, If I weren't already used to things like that due to various other medical issues throughout my life I'd of freaked out. I wish I could have asked to see my former teeth but I was kind of mentally exhausted from doing 3 at once . I still don't know if I'm just gonna go through life missing 3 teeth or if I'll get replacement ones. You guys got any thoughts on that?

If you can afford permanent replacements over partial dentures or just having nothing at all, get them. If I ever manage to be gainfully employed again, that's one of the first things I'm saving for.

Oh geez, the pressure can be rough if you aren't used to it, because you literally feel them tugging on the tooth, or breaking it, or so on. I was glad I already had the gas to get over my needle anxiety, because I think the pressure may have bothered me a lot more otherwise.

I'm missing three teeth, but they're all back teeth. A back molar and a wisdom tooth on one side, and a back molar on the other side. Having the latter molar removed allowed the wisdom tooth room to come in, so while there's a bit of a gap between it and the tooth ahead of it, it just kinda... Worked out.

Since they're in the back, I never bothered even thinking about replacing them, since I have no trouble eating or anything.

No, as I said in an earlier post I went with the needle so I was unconscious for the whole procedure thanks to the numbing I didn't feel anything but the pressure as they removed the teeth now I'm at home with a mouth full of gaze on the pain medication just sitting here waiting for the numbing to wear off.

Thankfully for today and the weekend I have nothing on my plate until Monday when I go back to work, through I am left curious on how shit my mouth will look until I get the replacements in.

Overall an experience. I wonder what they did with my teeth

Don't they give you the needle even if you get the gas? Pretty sure you'd only need the needle though. Only thing you really feel is the pressure of then pulling the tooth. Speaking from experience here.
