I don't think caring about enemy names a little bit is weird at all. If you're like, super upset about it, than sure, but if it's just an "Aww, I liked the old one," or, "Ooh, the new one is nice," it's just... Whatever? Especially when dealing with nostalgia. That applies to pretty much anything, you get used to something being named a certain way. It's like if you grew up with your local supermarket being Super Duper for most of your life, and it's now a Smith's or Kroger or Albertson's or whatever... It's pretty natural to "It's still Super Duper to me."

I wonder if we'll get better-translated versions of Psychopath dialog too - a lot of it is weirdly translated because of weird cultural humor and such that could have been done better, kind of like how a lot of names in the game are odd because they're translated directly from Japanese. This is nothing against Ted Woolsey, mind you, who is one of the all-time greats of the early days of actually translating a game's script well - much like his other works in the day he delivered a SMRPG script that's fun, punchy, and mostly spelling/grammar error free. But he was given grueling turnaround times for these things and didn't receive a lot of direction as far as like style guides are concerned (you know, 'this is the name this character normally has in English, don't translate their name from Japanese' that kind of stuff) so there was just a lot that he didn't know and didn't have time to research which they can fix now. I bet the script is gonna be touched up QUITE a bit.

Aside from the cultural references, original psychopath translations had issues with space limitations. Now that they can have two lines of text, anything is possible!

I wonder if they will translate it closely to the original, or replace the specific Japanese cultural references with ones more recognizable to Western audiences.

I think they could keep some of them though, like the Evangelion and Sailor Moon references.

Also I finally watched that overview trailer and they pronounce his name "Mal-oh" instead of "Mah-low" (as in "marshmallow"), which is how I've always said it.

Why do we have SO MANY remakes of rpgs where the fonts and text box are just absolute garbage. why do people consistently get this wrong? this is by far not even the worst example, but it's so weird

I just realized I pronounce it Marsh mello

But I've always said his name Mal-oh

I probably say it more like "mellow" too but "mah-low" would still be closer to that for me

Although it would be funny for his name to be pronounced "mellow" considering how emotional he is. It'd be a weird double pun.
