I'm surprised Cloud didn't catch enough anti-votes to pull him down from the #2 spot. Not that I dislike him, just a bit of an expectation for FF7 characters

I've never really gotten to expansions yet my self but XIV definitely has lots of players here, even among people who typically steer from MMOs. I'd definitely be thinking Alphinaud tho.

XI on the other hand no, I've seen polls with one person other than me voting that they played XI but I haven't identified who that other vote is. but Shantotto at least has appearances in crossovers so there's that, even though I find her choice as the XI rep baffling

Kefka finishes in 4th place! A very solid showing by the FFVI villain.

Amarant barely manages to outperform Vaan. Not a very popular character.

And Kimahri places just behind Zell.

You could add Lumina to be ranked for XIII. She's pretty important in Lightning Returns. I'd also include Caius and maybe even Yeul, especially if you're including people on the level of Jihl.

I'd also suggest Brother for X. He's a pretty major side character, especially in X-2

I don't play 14, but I'm surprised red haired cat man and the twins (hey I did just say I don't play this game) aren't listed under your considerations for that one.

I think I'm going back on my (unwritten) rule to not do the same game back to back days, so I can fit some of the lesser played characters into days with two characters from games that are played more.

Alphinaud, Alisae, Estinien, Yda, Papalymo, Thancred, Urianger, Hildibrand for sure. Merlwyb, Kan-E Senna, Raubahn, Haurchefant, Crystal Exarch, Nanamo, for maybe. Feo Ul, Hancock, Fordola, Midgardsormr, Omega, Yotsuyu, Asahi, Gaius, Krile, Vrtra, Hythlodeus, and Venat if you want to reach.

Bartz comes out just below Zell, but just ahead of Kimahri.

Firion barely manages to beat out Vaan for the lowest rated character so far. I don't think people have fond memories of FFII.

Zack has a good showing, tying Ramza for just out of the Top 10. Helped a lot by Crisis Core, I imagine.

Rinoa does surprisingly very well, though with fewer votes. Places just behind her love interest Squall for now.

Prompto ends just behind Lightning, giving him a decent placement for our first FFXV character.

Cloud of Darkness ranks just ahead of Eiko, and just behind Kimahri. Not a lot of of FF3 players.

Glad to see her reputation improve over time

I've always liked Rinoa. Love when she kicks Irvine down the stairs, and when she orders him to go back for Squall. "He might say "I wasn't ordered to escape!"

Rinoa Redemption next year??

Rinoa was always the best non-Squall FF8 party member, which is the dictionary definition of "damning with faint praise."

Sounds like very high praise to me because it's a great cast

FFVIII really needs a remake.

Rydia finishes a very respectable third place.

Cait Sith rates just above Cloud of Darkness. Not many fans of the cat-on-a-moogle? I never understood how that things' supposed to be a moogle.

Algus finishes just below Zell. A fairly divisive character. Easy to hate, but some people loved that.

Very pleasantly surprised with Rinoa's score!

To go back to the list of characters, I'd second Lumina as an LR rep, though I'm not sure how many here played it. Same thing with Layle, though even worse as TCB's playrate is probably lower than XI's >_> If you're unsure on all of IV's fiends, I'd at least include Rubicante. And I think you could take off a couple of the XV ones like Iedolas and Verstael, but that may just be me.

There's also the possibility of summons, many of them are proper characters in various entries. But would they be ranked separately for each game or as a whole... maybe best to avoid it after all.

Yeah, I can cut Iedolas and Verstael. Never gotten too far into FFXV, and mostly just used Wikipedia's list of characters.

XIV has such a huge cast, I might just save them for last, maybe tossing one in now and then (Like today). Might actually skip Shantotto if enough people haven't played XI.

Rydia has some really great moments tbh.

Teaming up with the man who unwittingly killed her mother. Telling Edward off for wallowing in his grief. Using Fire on Mt. Hobbs, in spite of her fear. Coming in with a Big Damn Heroes moment to save the party from Golbez, where you learn she's all grown up. Refusing to be told to stay home at the end of the game when the boys go after Zemus

Doesn't hurt that she's the OG summoner.

Oh yeah, I forgot Mystic Quest. Have many people even played that one? I never really see people mention it? I beat it a long time ago then kind of forgot it existed.

Of course I played MQ. I remember Tristam being kind of cool... you know, for a nine-year old kid who had only played Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy 1 and 4 at the time

I think Rydia's always been the most well-liked of IV, decent favourability with few detractors

Hope barely manages to rate half a point higher than Vaan, but he had his fair share of fans keeping him from rating last.

Maria does a little better than Firion, but worse than Penelo and Amarant.

Rydia moves above Kefka on the Top 10 list.

You can't keep Aeris away from that #2 slot

Edgar makes the top 10, and is the second highest playable Final Fantasy VI character.

Basch does significantly better than Vaan and Penelo, but still not great.

And Agrias ranks very well for a character who's story relevance is over pretty early. She definitely made an impact with what time she did have.

that's the main issue for all tactics characters not named ramza or delita. they're all interesting and cool but once their story time is done they just become overpowered units

Man, people liked Edgar a lot more than I would've guessed. I didn't like him even before he started checking out little girls!
