True. The capitalist system intrinsically rewards sociopaths and worse as corporate leaders.

These fools never think about the long-term.

Their reaction to consumers having more purchasing power is to raise the prices so they have less purchasing power, instead of realizing that consumers having more purchasing power means more purchases they wouldn't otherwise be able to normally afford.

Like, instead of buying a single towel for a bathroom people can afford a whole bathroom set. A newbie guitarist will be able to splurge on an expensive guitar instead of a cheapy First Act because of that extra spending power.

But nah, they only ever think about how they can fuck us over and prevent us from gaining any power, even if it would ultimately benefit them to allow us to do so.
