I only just hit my 200th coop fight today!

I'm sitting on about 16.5k crystals right now, but I'll have the 500 from using energy by the end of the week. I wish the season pass gave something like 100 crystals for every level you get after 30.

taking a look at all of the weapons, some I think would be really nice to 5* or more:

Aerith's Mythril Rod / Glenn's Hardcore Squad - PDEF and MDEF up for all allies
Cloud's Organics - Stun (not sure if this is useful as a lot of bosses have status immunities? but not investigated that much, sounds good though)
Aerith's Full Metal Staff - Phys Damage to all enemies with a PDEF down and 10% crit rate
Tifa's Sonic Striker - Highest single target damage (+10% crit rate)
Lucia's Mad Minute, Barret's Solid Bazooka, Red's Junk Collar, Tifa's Tiger Fangs - Single enemy phys damage, 10% crit rate and MATK down
Tifa's Leather Gloves, Matt's Slick Beetle - Single enemy phys damage, 10% crit rate and PATK down
Tifa's Kaiser Knuckles, Matt's Stingray, Zack's Arc Sword - Single enemy mag damage, 10% crit rate and MDEF down

There are a ton of single target PDEF down or MDEF down but they all pale in comparison to
Aerith's Sun Umbrella - Single Enemy, mag damage, 10% crit rate, PDEF down and MDEF down

Ive been using Hardedge with Cloud because of the physical defense down, but the game threw a few extra 5*s at me, and I probably wouldnt have noticed it without that. Thanks for the list, thats great info!

For the single target, phys damage, crit rate 10%, PDEF down abilities we have:
PDEF: Cloud's Hardedge, Zack's Cutlass, Glenn's Piece of Cake, Barret's W Machine

And one more good for debuffing all enemies:
Red XIII's Gold Collar - All Enemies MDEF down, crit rate 10%

this info is way harder to get to than it should be.

you know what else drives me nuts? magical attack materia vs. the blow materia. the game always gives my magical attacker the blow and my physical attacker the magic one, and I assume its better to switch it but I have no clue.

I really need to put my pull priority on some of those MDef downs, Tifa is my main and the game keeps tossing me... I think it's her Crystal Gloves that come with Thundaga

I suppose thinking about the Summons is worth an exercise too;

Ifrit:
Single target Ice damage only comes from Shiva's Blade (Cloud) and Shiva Cannon (Barret)
Matt's Absolute Royal, Cloud's Enhance Sword, Aerith's SIlver Staff - All Enemies ice damage (for the bombs)

Shiva:
Red's Rage Collar, Glenn's Crewkicker - 400-750 potency single target phys fire
Ifrit's Sword (Zack) and Inferno Grave (Glenn) come in at 320-450 potency - it is easier to get to that top level because the parts are farmable but if you have an even 5* version of the above they're pretty superior. Glenn's is Mag damage, Zack's Phys - and Shiva is explicitly weaker to mag, so weigh that up
Flame Projector (Barret), Crystal Sword (Z) (Zack) - All enemies fire damage

yeah my thinking on farming summons is that its the only ice/fire drops in the game that are consistent. I have a 4* Ifrits Blade and a 1* Shivas blade for two of my 3 main guys, and each one helps out vs. the other. I wish the 5* weapon was a more consistent drop. Ive only been able to get 1 of each and Ive fought the 100k Ifrit fight many times. Im not sure if it can drop more than once but the game says it is a common drop.

speaking of drops - is there any way to upgrade the buster sword? I dont see it as an option in the preferred drop list and I have 0 weapon parts for it

I've got the Inferno Grave to 6* but it's not really "common", yeah. I'm loathe to spend much resource fighting the Normal version of Shiva just to farm purples of her weapon to take back to fight harder Ifrit, hoping to get strong enough from Hard Ifrit to take out Hard Shiva at least

As for the Buster Sword - not at present, it has been mentioned that different featured draws will have different weapon preferences available, maybe that's the way in future

Ive beaten hard Shiva a half dozen times or so. I havent had much trouble with her and Im in the 105k range

as for Sephiroth, you didnt think theyd make a whole campaign about young Sephiroth and not make him playable? ever crisis is definitely a fan service game so this was always going to be the path, and theyll lock him out of the ff7 story battles.

The mid tier summon battles can actually drop 5* weapons? I've been doing the Ifrit one over and over and haven't seen any yet.

Definitely better than mine. You have almost double the nodes unlocked, and my Plume is only level 2

finding myself unenthused about summons right now now I've discovered I was sat on some great weapons to level up,been hanging out in cube/pod 3 all day

those two are so unfulfilling. I hate dropping 60 stamina and seeing 0 megapods. sometimes 1 feels even worse

it's nice when you get all 3 rewards, i've had a decent day of it

Reading this makes me think I should go for aerith's umbrella targeted wise hm

yeah I suspect it's the best weapon available right now. as a side note I realised only the newly released weapons have 3 effects, so power creep is already real!

Lmao yeah power creep is real which is why I didn't spend any gems yet. I will probably pull on aerith umbrella the last day. I already got a 5 star aerith armor so that's good (no idea if it is good I just liked the skin and had a voucher lol)

who can say! decreasing PDEF and MDEF seems like it will be solid vs bosses for a long time and I think 3 effects will be standard for a while, so I wouldn't expect anything at Halloween that definitively blows it away. but depending on the content that drops, more situational things could be more coveted, like red's seaside collar which absolutely melts anything with lightning weakness. just impossible to know what's going to be better in the future, but I do think it's top tier today!

i might have grinded both ifrit weapons to five white stars...

Took 3 draws but I finally got it, along with another of Clouds event sword and another Fairy Tale. Im calling it a win!
