Tried this out but I generally get very turned off by gacha games that separate paid currency from earned currency, and lock banners behind paid.

Doubt I stick with it.

I've never played a true gacha game before and this is super overwhelming for a newcomer

I kinda just want to see what they did to the story missions, and I kinda like it despite all of the other stuff. I don't understand

some gacha games unlock the systems gradually so that you have the chance to learn them (just gonna plug star rail)

this one overwhelmed me with so many things i doubt ill try it again

i could just actually finish FF7R or something instead

i was overwhelmed at first because it lets you do so much stuff but you can pretty quickly work out the gates to progress. simply grinding the mission at the bottom of the homepage until they're done is a good start

oh but one of those missions is poorly translated as hell, it says something like "unlock all 15 character statstreams" and what it means is unlock 15 nodes across all characters statstreams

I've been progressing story and after the plate collapses there's like a 5000 power jump so I guess my team won't be ready for that for at least several days of grinding mats to level up equip and such v_v

Here's a thought, this uses Remake designs for the combat models, so that means it can't outpace that for the main FF7 quest. So, if the rest of the cast aren't revealed in Part 2, it could be a long while before the main story gets finished.

Don't you have to jump around to the other games? Or does that not effect your overall strength?

you kinda have to sink enough in to each party, although at this point it seems there's no point putting anything extra into zack. i've just hit my first actual roadblock with the FS team who needed to be at 27k, got them exactly there and still died so might need to tweak a little

I think I'm getting into the general groove of the game (maybe). unfortunately some of these bosses feel like hard gates. I'm up to chapter 4-1 of the first soldier arc and god damn

These jumps in power are ridiculous.

I just finished one section of a chapter at 23,900 power and the literal next fight a couple sections later is 29,700.

i have still not ran out of my initial stamina potions and not really found a time i couldn't keep going. i am looking forward to running out of stamina potions today so i can put the game down <_<

I've been playing pretty frequently, I can't believe you are almost out of potions (I've only used a couple.). Are you 24/7 this or somethin LOL

I've used a ton which gave me a ton more

didn't really play much thursday but yesterday yeah i got into the groove and started to understand where to spend energy....the battles play themself so I just left it on auto and chose the next battle while I worked or played other games <_< plus I know the game, it's best to use all your stamina as quick as possible and eventually get through the "beginner" phase where they give you all this energy, and settle down to like an hour a day

but also stamina booster will fly through some tonics pretty quick!

Playing online Coop literally every single person has Cloud as the character they use. I've had 28 different teammates and all 28 have been Cloud.

I get that the game by far makes him your best unit and it's not even close, but c'mon guys lol

I'm enjoying it. But that's cus I get to use Red XIII and he's a very good boy.

Played for a few hours yesterday. Was really hoping I could just focus on the story missions, 'cause I want to see the new First Soldier story, but yeah, those stopping blocks are abrupt and grinding is a pain.

I do like the new characters though. Well, Glenn anyway. He's a delightful himbo.

yeah this has shunted Warhammer as my mobile game of choice, it's great (if you're into the genre).

Finally hit a real wall - at about 50,000 power you can now farm memories, and I'm assuming I'm going to need to farm a ton as well as get my guys to level 40, as my current guide mission is for 68k power lol

I brought Aerith a few times but why, so we could go slower? what's the benefit to doing it with a non cloud char? And Cloud wouldn't even be my best character if not for the free memories you get for him - otherwise my Glenn is hitting harder, but Cloud has two extra LB levels

thinking about it I don't know why they don't just put a diamond sigil on one of the bosses as I've not seen Cloud be able to do shit with that as of yet

But yeah, I just went up in like 25,000 team power in about 4 hours from spamming Stamina Boost.

All my wasted time earlier ;_;

If it wasn't for the kinda aggressive gacha stuff in my face, I'd like this more, but I still do enjoy it overall. I was easier on it when I wrote my beta impressions at Nova, it seems a bit more egregious now.

I ended up uninstalling the game. It's just too icky and mobile gamey. But also I lost my progress and was like eh oh well. I may come back in a few years just to get through the story stuff and actually experience the game and not have to worry as much about the gacha shit.

It's all the different currencies, man, I think that's the hardest thing for me to get into with gacha. I'm super decent at not feeling FOMO, so I almost never drop cash - it's why I seldom posted in the big FF gacha topics here when I was around regularly, because (understandably) everyone was on about how to get x character or whatever in a week span.

But the currency. The currency. I just don't feel like learning it all, LOL.

Tacticus! It's very F2P friendly IMO, and never really asks you to play more than an hour a day (and a lot of days, with instant raid battles you can cap out with less)

got Cloud to 29k Power, just enough to sneak in on the Very Hard Co-Op missions... except I can't find a match, rip

I just squeezed by Rufus by the slimmest of margins only to be hit by a 40k fight when I'm at like 31. looks like the grind is on, boys

god gacha makes it so hard to get into a game

just let me pay $20 for the game without this bullshit and Ill probably pay $5 for each waifu costume too

alright now things are getting tough enough that i've had to learn how the support materia in your weapons actually work i don't think i can use recommend party again :< Murasame breaks two extra Triangle sigils past level 70, but only if you have a triangle materia in the third slot, and recommended always seems to put Cura in that slot

Also now wish I had understood what separates the different weapons and how to determine which to invest in long term - it's all about the C abilities, especially the abilities at Max Rank (which you can check by tapping the arrows while inspecting a weapon). I spent a ton of resource on the Wizer Staff for Aerith because it was the only 4 star weapon I had for her early on, but I think that resource would have been better spent on something like Fairy Tale (Curaga!) or Mythril Rod (DEF buff)

oh man thanks for saying that. there are so many submenus in this game that its hard to keep track of what matters. unfortunately I cant tell what attack abilities are good or will be good later on

yeah it's hard to say but I'm pretty certain that things like dealing higher single damage aren't super important whereas buffs/debuffs will be very important, and multi target spells like Firaga, Thundaga and Curaga seem very appealing too - all of which I've seen on weapons and don't think you can obtain through materia as of yet.

I ended up giving it a shot, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Just need to figure out things like the weapon stuff above!

one thing I love about this game is not having direct PvP, which means you don't get to feel like a dumb loser for not spending money as soon as you come up across someone with like a rank 20 apocalypse or whatever

this weapon enhancement event... seems bad! even with a +20% drop rate on mission 7, I'm pretty sure my energy is better invested in the Watermelons event, since Watermelon Mission 7 drops a Chunk anyway AND you can trade the watermelons for more Chunks.

It's probably better still to grind the Watermelon Co-Op mission, but I'm being baited right now by the "spend 1000 energy in solo for a wallpaper" mission

I agree though I wish there was a bit more Co-op atm. Just 3 monsters with varying levels of difficulty is pretty limiting.

I guess I should really be capping Cloud Specific Weapon parts from the Co-op exchange every week too even though I'd rather buy any other character's

I just sunk some levels into Tifa's event gloves which have a heal all C Ability at 5* and it's a game changer. if you've been stacking crystals so far I would advise you pull in the Tifa/Red event Featured Draw - and pick this first on your Select space on your stamp card too

Even though this weapon for Red looks trash, I should probably try and max it out or at least get a lot of them.

I got Tifa's event gloves last night, and holy shit they're incredible.
