It's more that I haven't played enough to actually use up enough of the 3x stuff to make room in my inventory for the gobs and gobs we've gotten since lol

yeah that makes sense i'm more mystified at tran playing a lot and still having stamina backed up. but i did have to go HAM the first two days to get through the initial allotment of stamina - on the other hand, i got the season pass which i'm sure has given me boatloads of extra stamina compared to you guys!`

Is the season pass worth it? I'm tempted for the extra crystals since I heard a rumor of a Halloween event, but I'm always skeptical of spending in a gacha game. I'm always worried that if I start, I'll end up dropping hundreds.

the season pass is the thing i always do in a game of this style that i like. a small monthly amount that gives you some premium shit and also some extra targets to work toward. i'm never gonna buy crystals outright or pay for a draw, but i like the season pass and it's reasonable for a game i'm playing every day

I made some good progress today. I beat the Crisis Core story mode missions, grinded Ifrit enough to get 200 sword parts for Zack's ifrit sword and then got the 5 star drop after many tries in the hard mode fight (I think it's more likely to drop when you get higher score ranks?). I guess it was a Zack day.

the other main thing I did was materia grinding. I think EC is super well made for what it is, but if there was one complaint I had it'd be about trying to navigate Materia menus. just trying to see what materia is what and trying to sort and filter them is super cumbersome, but I think I have 3 of each element in -ra form now, finally. I don't yet have 3 each of the spell and the "blow" attacks yet so I might work on those. right now I'm trying to decide on if I should prioritize that or trying to get some of these above level 5, because once you get past 7 or so, it's a real grind. grinding out synthesis parts also kinda sucks but I used the co-op very hard fights for those where I could to make things easier.

I'm curious to see what the next wave of content is going to be in 3ish hours. we'll get new co-op fights and hopefully another twist on the event, since I think most people are done farming the event for items.

and there it is! lots of cool new stuff to play with, and a lot of blue crystals to get for just playing the game. throwing combat on auto for these early co-op battles and dungeons and letting other guys level up is fun. I'm fighting one of them as I write this post!

the exp in these dungeons rocks for how easy they are lol, team FS are up baby

using 5k energy in a week might be a tall order unless they really throw stamina at us again next week

nice! I have a 5 star level 90 one (my own level 90) but i want to get it higher and probably will never get one. im weirdly worried that if i get other overboosted weapons, itll auto equip them and not fairy tale and ill have to change it every time

That's a very valid concern if you ask me. The auto equip stuff is good, but it's not perfect

literally a "defect" from today lol

it seems to be getting worse the higher you get. the game likes to take my best weapon on a character and make it a subweapon on another one. drives me nuts. I also have been working on ifrits sword so it gets prioritized for every encounter with a fire weakness, over my fully overboosted, higher level umbrella weapon. they even put a notice out to apologize about this and said it wouldnt be fixed until october.

I finally drew a 5 star weapon for Matt! I had like 6 for every other character so it was getting pretty hilarious. Im almost disappointed it finally happened.

yeah to be honest unless I outpower a mission pretty handily at this point I'm making tweaks to my setup most of the time anyway - it's not too smart with what I really want for crisis dungeons and it's never choosing barrier/manaward despite them being super useful.

I'm now putting together a google doc containing all the weapons and their C Abilities which once it's done I'll be able to use to actually decide what to invest in longer term, i will share it here once it's done. Tbh I barely even know what abilities I already have that would be just a tap away if the weapon was at a usable (50~) level, there's some particularly beast stuff in there that i hadn't noticed already

Murasame, and it's just because it was the first featured weapon so we all maxed it. It was my first weapon to 90 and I think that was probably a mistake now!

Im half convinced that wutai 2 chocobo hunt only has 70% items. ive been at 70 for like 2-3 days now despite using like 20 chocoboosters.

i've been at 90% on Grasslands 2 for about a week I think, maxing the exploration kinda sucks

does anyone actually know what potency means on the summon growth grids? how is it different from upgrading the limit break?

well for a start your summons have two limits right? so both will be affected by potency upgrades regardless of individual level. it's still affecting the power of the attack, in the end. that 2000% or whatever just gets increased by the potency

yeah. unlocking that second limit is super hard though. I wont be winning any 170k fights anytime soon! I cant tell if ~8 upgrades are better than a limit level up.

I think you want to prioritize limit level when it's available yeah

btw starting to think the premium cube/pod missions are a ruse. those are perfectly grindable (albeit slow) through the regular missions whereas memories aren't farmable anywhere else. Maybe they're worth doing when cactuar event is up again though?

had a bad time in shinra building hard crisis dungeon just now. clear of the recommended power level but didn't even get to the last boss. kinda cheap that you only know one bosses weaknesses from the enemy details screen the first time, when your keys for this stuff are so limited!

yeah I spent a lot of time thinking about premium quests yesterday and came to the same conclusion. now I spend all 3 quests grinding memories on fairly easy fights. Id rather get 3-4 nodes for a character than 5-8 materials. there needs to be a better way to get those materials. Im thinking playing the long game and trading various currencies for it is going to be the way, so I spend time working on summons in the meantime since I can get relevant weapon parts alongside it.

as for the crisis dungeons, I dont do them until I am *sure* I can s+ it due to how rare those damn things are. I agree, sometimes I hit a boss Im not ready for and I have to deal with it. I handle that by just being way stronger than them.

I have started to play this, I am not going to spend a single gem until a year in on draws. Wish me luck.

it throws a lot of gems at you because i don't think that's going to get you very far - there's a small set of possible pulls, for a gacha game, and the idea is to get duplicates to actually get any power. but if you're insistent, i'll point you towards the available watermelon weapons, and wish you luck!

you have to get a ways in to access the event still. Im near the endgame though with $0 spent and dont feel like Ive really missed out on anything, so its definitely doable.

unless i'm misunderstanding he's talking about not using any of the gems it even gives you to do draws. you can do a hell of a lot of drawing for free as it is!

I am doing the event, it's fun. Casual for me means different things for other people. Basically though I have gotten the Zack weapon from that already. I just want to see how many gems I can get my hands on for fun, and I have been using the free tickets a lot. This may not get me very far but I am not falling for the "come get half naked skins of the main cast" stamps.

I have been idly grinding levels/stream stuff/weapon upgrade stuff while doing other things for a few days now.

Weirdly despite being the significantly higher power fight I think the actual Shiva fight is a lot easier than Ifrit, since she responds to her meter depleting with a massive stat drop while Ifrit responds with an AoE attack and getting back up to half.

Either that or my Shiva fight is broken.

I just know power creep is always a thing in these games but price creep usually isn't, so I am going to take my super free team as far as i can because it amuses me and makes me not remember all of the good ffrk times.

I had one of those last week. I have all the prereqs done but the 177k fight. I just don't have the power yet to deal with knocking down the charge-up and that's frustrating. I might need to spend some time leveling up Shiva.

I feel like if you can break the charge up, you're fine, but I don't have the materia to break the charge ups for those higher power battles.

I'm trying to invest in weapons with fire resistance or ice attack, but I feel so constrained by what weapons I've been lucky enough to overboost. I guess that's the game, though

i've never even tried the fight because it's so far above my power level but maybe it wouldn't be too bad. maybe time to sink these crisis medals into an ice breach?
